I was kinda wondering what kind of people uses the UX50. I myself am a 14 year old high school student. Purpose is to cause some ooze at my school and show off. However, the main reasons are to keep me busy, music, video, web and games. I plan to do some homework but most the time I end up getting frustrated and doing it at home. The other thing is it is a great organized note pad. The calculator, dictionary, clocks and camera (still and movie) is very convient as well. So tell me about you and how you use your UX50!
HAPPY NEW YEAR :D

I use it for mainly for work; Pine(E-mail), Calender, notepad, SSH (http://staff.deltatee.com/~angusa/TuSSH.html) & web browsing along with various messaging clients. (WiFi & Bluetooth are great)
For personal use; AvantGo daily and Metro (http://www.nanika.net/Metro) when I travel.
The music & video playing are nice features as well to show clients quick video production samples, or to occupy my time when traveling.
The camera comes in handy when taking quick pictures of contacts for the address book.
The only function I've used once is the voice recording feature during a meeting.

I also use mine mainly for work. I have designed and deployed several database using SLTG that all of our employees now use for their daily service calls.
I also have all of the computers IP, OS, and other technical data stored. Contacts, meeting appointments, To-Do's. MobileTS is coming in very handy to login to clients systems for troubleshooting.
I only have one game, WarFare (awesome), a couple of pictures.
Not allot of "entertainment" on my UX

Work, about 40%. Contacts, Notes on Jobs or such, Email on the road. Document reading and some E-books but I'm not a great fan of E-books (I like a real book to hold on to) about 10%. The rest is games, MP3's and goof off stuff while traveling to customers.

I think I'm the only kid using it, which is another reason to be proud about. And I barely use it for work...

Ahh, ok, thanks orol. So, that is comfortable? Is it possible to access Pine over the internet with TuSSH or do you do it over a wifi home network? Sounds cool, but why not just use ClieMail? ;-)
14, tunin' 15 in May. I use it to keep me up during boring classes by blastin' United States of Whatever at full volume. Whatching The A-Team at lunch, surfing the internet, and playing MP3s. Also taking down notes (but I get alot of OOHH and AAHHs during class), and reading Ebooks (Like Rainbow 6) and Calvin&Hobbes (I scan the pages and convert them to Doc format).

Hm, ya but most the people know I have it, just they dont make too much of a fuzz about it. However, how you go online at school? Wifi or Bluetooth phone because my school dont got Wifi and I dont have a phone (too expensive to go online in Canada). All you need is to use the record button which doesnt cause distraction. The mic should pick up lecture, the camera, at good distance can take notes for you, just dont make it too obvious.

I'm a 24 year old medical student in Birmingham, AL.
I use my pda to listen to mp3s and use it as a medical reference, a drug reference, a bible, occasional solitaire or bejeweled game break, scheduler, and internet portal now i guess (go ux50!)..and whatever other kind of mischief i can think up or find out about to use it for....any suggestions? :-)

Professor: Surprise you have a test in 5 minutes!
In Response to Blu3Sab3r:
I use WiFi to use the net. Long story short, after setting every computer's hompage to the Hampster Dance Site and draging Explorer to the Auto Start up folder, I took a quick peak atthe network settings. Been able to use the AP all the time :D .

Most people have no idea that their accounts are typically cracked because someone is using a sniffer and their username & password are sent in the clear. Unless you're tunneling in to the server that holds your E-mail, from the device itself, PDA, laptop, whatever, your information could be available to those who want it regardless of your E-mail client, Pine, Outlook, Eudora Cliemail etc.
SSH, albeit SSH1 is sort of a speed bump when it comes to encryption/security. SSH2 is better. I use Pine 100% and have done so for the last 9 years. I never had to worry about a virus via E-mail as well, not to mention the fantastic spam filtering that can be done on the server, so I never view it in the first place.

I am 52 (am I the oldest here??) and use my UX50 to keep track of to-do's, appointments and e-mail (via Agendus) and take noes during business meetings. I use it with a BT phone to access e-mail through GPRS.
Plus I use Doc-to-go for keeping my writings always with me (writing short stories is my hobby, 24 x 7).
During the recent holidays I've set up my UX for MP3 and e-books, so I'll be able to use it when traveling.

At 65 I am a Technology Services Technician at a school district in the Midwest USA. At my age the first thing to go is memory. I use the clie to keep track of my to-do's, appointments and e-mail via wi/fi as the entire district is wireless (5 schools). I take notes during business meetings. The most valued piece of software is Mobile DB. I have all the passwords and serial numbers for all the users and software and computers in our district. When your memory is fading the clie a valuable tool. Now if I can only remember where I put down the clie?

I'm 16 years old, and use the ux50 for just about everything in school. I take notes, record homework, listen to music, and sneak in a game or two between bells. I love the wifi access, I'm sitting on the floor right now doing my homework, err, sort of. I use docs2to to take notes, and 4.0 student for keeping track of homework. I also got my targrus keyboard working so I can take notes faster than even if I was using just pen and paper.
I just wish I had the external battery since I use up most of the power by the time I get home. The camera is also fun to carry around school (and I am allowed to take pics since I'm in the yearbook:)).
My favorite feature is wifi, on my long walk home I can actually connect to the internet at certain locations. I love this pda.

I'm 23 working in the military. I use this to keep me on my toes with appts, a continutiy book of all that I have learned so I can go back for a refresher. I also use it for playing an occasional freecell *winning streak broke:(*, reading ebooks, watching artwork, email, listen to music and watch music videos :). My all in one entertainment system.
Im 20, and I primarily use my UX-50 for games. :D
I have counted like 20 so far, and I install all the new ones as soon as they are dispatched. Warfare Inc. is great, but most of the Astraware games keeps you busy. In my work, everyone thinks a device of 700 USD is way too expesive to be playing Bejeweled! :p
The second use is for development. Im a developer of VB mainly, and I develop on NS Basic and MobileVB, so I use my UX for a debug device also (The little thing suffers of dozens of soft resets daily).
Also, I use AvantGo to keep on track of the new games for my beloved UX and the newspapers.
I live in Mexico, and here arent many hotspots available yet, but is great to be chatting or surfing while in the airport or some selected restaurants.

I'm 24, and do graphic/web design.. I get a lot of different types of use from it..
I mostly use my UX50 to update my blog (livejournal).. Occasional HTML editing, a lot of taking photos.. At home I have a wifi setup (airport) - I don't use the UX50 for games much.. Castaway being the biggest example.. I use GBA for games more..
I manage myself using datebk5 (yay!!) and I got myself a t610 (vodafone, PAH!) to be able to update my livejournal on the move.. The reason I originally bought UX50 though was being able to use WordSmith better. I'm supposed to be writing a novel, but I never really get round to adding to it recently. >.< I use it as MP3 player a lot too!

I use my for many types of applications. Apart from the usual diary, contacts and do list (the big one for me to keep my life in order), the other things I use it for....
1) Email - handy to clear by intray on the train or in front of the TV
2) GPS and route finder - it plans my route and guides me when I drive around - without it I would be lost
3) Banking - I use Money 2003 on my main pc, but useful to record spending as I do it and have them sync
4) Playing music - makes train jurneys more fun
5) Keep all my details (accounts, web sites and passwords, dvd collection) to hand via MobileDB
6) Thoughtmanager - useful for planning stuff in the future with sub-tasks etc
7) Playing games - Bewjewelled and warcraft inc.

I’m 20 and a college student for Computer Engineering. I have just obtained my UX50 so I only have plans
I am so far converting my DVDs to become "appropriate" to my Clié.
As the campus is fully Wi Fi integrated and I have a 10 mbit at home, (1) I might connect to my house network via the Wi Fi on campus and stream music, and "always" have acess to my documents.
(2) I will also be able to now keep in touch with my other friends when I m at campus that are connected with verichat/msn. I haven’t checked verichat fully yet but I know MSN supports
(3) webcam and voice chat. So I might even have video chats with them.
Otherwise I will use the Clie to check
(4) emails,
(5) to do, memos, and
(6)bring my "work" to school and print it there.
On the way there probably won’t be WI fi, so I will stick with 8 mb (7)Avantgo(download web sites to be viewed later). There’s allot of "good" news sources there to read from, Financial times, Herald Tribune, BBC, Reuters, ect.....I will also on the way
(8)write replies to my emails and have them sent as fast I enter my studio or the campus : ).....
