Hi,

Can anyone help - how do you use Sonic Stage to load and play music? I've bought a memory stick (not a Magic Gate one) - and I can't save any music to my Clie. I've got a Palm Tungsten with real player, and tried to load that, but that doesn't work either. Do I HAVE to buy a Magic Gate Memory Stick - is this some kind of scam by Sony to stop illegal copying?????

Solution: Don't use Sonic Stage.

Try Data Import to transfer your files to the clié. It's all covered in the manual, amazingly enough.

Sonic Stage is a waste of space - dont use it.

All you need to do to play mp3 files is copy them to the following folder in your memory stick (or internal Media).

/Palm/PROGRAMS/MSAUDIO

Do this with "Data Export" on your PC and "Data Import" on your UX50 (using the USB cable to connect the two devices).

This will create a mapped drive which you can drag and drop files using windows explorer.

If your PC has a memory stick reader , you can use this as an alternative method of getting files onto your clie.

The Audio Player looks for mp3 files in the above directory, so you don't have to do anything else.

There also some commercial audio players worth a look which offer enhanced functionality, such as playlists, streaming audio etc...

I use pocket tunes delux version, which lets me listen to my mp3 files using wifi - I use winamp and shoutcast on my Pc to stream the music.

Yeah my I'm not fond of SStage personally. I just copy them manually, smbmate, msimport........many more options allot better than sstage.
