DateBK5 and Clie Datebook

I have installed the demo version of DateBk5. My problem is that I get "reminder" alarms from both DateBk5 AND my Clie datebook. Does anyone know how to disable the Clie Datebook "Reminder" alarms ? Thanks. Gary

The answer is basically the same, no matter which version of DateBk5 you have installed.  The exact placement of the option you need to check will vary.  I have v 5.0b, and the checkbox is under Preferences/Alarms.  There, or wherever it happens to be in your version, check the box Datebk5 Handles Alarms.  That should eliminate the double alarm you are experiencing.

That didn't work for me, but it is a known issue that's discussed in the DateBk help files and in the Yahoo Group. There are 2 solutions: 1) launch DateBk immediately after you hotsynch 2) load a utility called dbAlarm (available at the DateBk website) which essentially disables the Palm Appts alarm. That's what I ended up doing.

I'm still having an alarm issue, though. If I don't acknowledge an alarm on the first shot (i.e., hit OK), then when the reminder sounds say 5 min. later it defaults to the standard Palm 3 rings, instead of the custom alarm I defined. I didn't get any response from the Yahoo Group, so I'm living with it.
