I don't know what it is but it is very frustrating that I cant figure out how to export a picture or photo from my CLie ux-50 to my PC. Does anyone have ANY ideas on how I can do this? Thanks!!

Good question.

The easiest way is to put the photos to Memory Stick, remove Memory Stick from Clie and insert Memory Stick in flash card reader connected to PC via USB. If you use Memory Stick Pro, make sure your flash card reader supports Memory Stick Pro.

I just did a cool way by sending pictures via e-mail from Clie to my e-mail address. Go to Clie Viewer, click on mail icon (upper right corner), select picture you want to send and it prompts you receiver's e-mail address. Not the fastest way, but really cool.

Hope that answers your question.

If you run Data Import from your UX and click "CONNECT". You should then be able to see your UX Memory Stick as a 'removable' drive on your PC. You can then browse around on the Memory Stick to find your images. Usually in the folder DCIM. Just right click and copy the image you want then paste it wherever you want on your hard drive. That's the easiest way I've found. No card reader needed either. Note you will need to have the UX connected to the PC via a USB cable as I don't think this will work wirelessly. And the files you want will need to be on the Memory Stick.

Hope this helps...

unless you use internal media :P

Right! I thought I mentioned that the files needed to be on the Memory Stick. Oh, I did say the files needed to be on Memory Stick.:p Since the UX internal memory is so limited a Memory stick is a very good investment. Especially if you store lots of images, MP3's, etc.:D

I send pix and videos via BlueTooth. Not super fast, but it works. Took about 1.5 minutes to transfer a 3MB video. The BlueTooth adapter for your PC is well worth it for all the features it offers. Plus, if you get a BlueTooth phone, I have the Sony T-616, you can send pix back and forth very easily.

I never tried the Bluetooth adapter, going the Wifi route myself.

I use Splashphoto myself for transferring photos to the UX50. I like the way it does preprocessing of the image, shrinking it to a UX50 size. No sense in throwing a 400K image to the card when a 40K will do, look the same, and load faster. Unless you use a viewer and want to zoom endlessly. And it seems to upload any pictures I take back to the PC when I hotsync.
