zlauncher or yishow

i've decided to get a new launcher for my sl-10, i've narrowed it down to z launcher and yi show. which of hte 2 do you think is better?

Both launcher replacements have their advantages over the other one.  My advice would be to download both and see which one suits your needs best.

acoustyx86, I assume that you aren't trying to start yet another which launcher is better thread...search the forums for the several that already exist.

In the end, both are excellent and widely used - it comes down to personal preference and what you prefer in terms of features, ease of use, etc.

 

 

.....but for the record zLauncher is twice the value at half the price!!  :D

It's a super personal choice based on how you use your Clie and what launcher features you want most -- and what each individual launcher offers at the time you want to buy.

My own personal philosophy is to choose a launcher based on what it does now, not what it may or may not do later. Fortunately, Palm software is relatively inexpensive and it's not a huge drain on the pocketbook to change your mind later.

I like both but use zlauncher 90% of the time. Keep in mind no matter which one you use it's not going to look as good as the screen shots you see online. I had my friend load up ZL on his S300 and I was taken aback by the look in monochrome. I think the lastest launchers are designed to really shine with the newer color displays while the monochrome PDAs are an after thought since they are slowing being weeded of the market. Such is the wave of the future...

Rather than rehashing the same old arguments where everyone is right and no one is wrong, let's just leave it that acoustyx86 should just try them both for him/herself and go from there?

the main reason I use ZL is because I hate background images but love the high density icons. It's not like there is a whole ton of functionality difference between any of the launchers, it's a matter of "feel", a launcher is more like picking a bat at the batting cages then buying a car. It's what feels good in the hand, pun intended...

Try them both yourself and you decide which is best for you!

Heck with trying them both, try them all and have fun. Cause just like every app out there they all have things you like and things you do not.

use both launcher, and switch back and forth if you feel bored with either of them.

I'm mighty partial to ZLauncher, but YiShow is a quality product. I wrote a review of ZLauncher, MegaLauncher 4, and Facer on PDA Avenue (http://www.pdaavenue.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=3). Grandizer wrote a review of YiShow on the same forum. They might prove helpful. There is no substitute for living with each for a while and seeing which one grows on you.
