Hello,

My 615 recently stopped syncing, though it has done the same thing on 3 other occations.

I'm running XP, I've tried the following to no avail.

Bought new cradle.
Restored XP to previous point.
Removed sofware from PC,
Turned off Anti Virus software and reinstalled it.

I've noticed that for some reason when I disconnect
it's USB cable that the computer does not respond to
it.

When I go into System to check devices it does not appear.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thx's

Clyde

Clyde,

Have you tried a soft reset of your 615? My experience is that many syncing problems can be solved by just doing a soft rest of the Clie.

Hello

Shouldn't't I see it under the "device manager"

This is where the problem is starting from I think
I just have had no luck to get it recogonized.

The Clie itself does not show up in Device Manager, or at least it doesn't show up in my Device Manager under XP. What should show up is your USB root hub and USB Universal Host Controller. Assuming that those show up correctly, there should be no reason for XP not to recognize the T615 USB connection, assuming that you're installing from the original CD.

When you right click on the Hotsync icon in the system tray, does it show Local USB checked? If not, that's your problem. If it shows Local Serial checked, change it to Local USB. You'll get an alert if the Local USB connection is not properly configured and get an opportunity to change the configuration.

Thx's Jim,

I didn't know that the PDA wouldn't show under the Device Manager. Yes the USB root hub and USB Universal Host Controller are displayed.

Righ clicking the Hotsync icon in the system tray, shows "Local USB" checked.

No I don't get and alert to inform me that the USB connection is nor configured.

It is an odd problem, in that nothing works so far.

which version of Palm Desktop are you using?

also, try using Pilot Install to just install a single pdb.

Does anyone have any installation discs for a Sony Clie T615 that they are not using. I dont have any and my PDA is pretty much useless without any Apps. Is there anyway to send them over the internet? (would appretiate any kinda of feedback) Thanks.
