I'd like to use my UX50 as a pseudo-iPod, but don't want the hassle of having to open it, switch it on etc, whenever I want to pause it, turn the volume down, etc....

Does anyone know of a decent MP3 player that can use the hard buttons on the UX50 without permanently hi-jacking the buttons from their default usage?

I'm a bit of a Palm newbie so I don't even know if this is possible with the Palm OS.

the jog dial can lower raise the volume. pause the tracks. and even switch tracks. It might not be as easy as the hard buttons, but it works without opening anything.

maybe someone will develop a BlueTooth remote control !
Wonder why they decided to do with the wired remote that was so good on the NR70V
BTW loserlester ... how do you skip tracks with the jog dial ... I can use it to play/pause and alter volume...
(wonder if next release of AudioPlayer will learn from AeroPlayer as well... that's got some neat features)

you know in in audipplayer, how you can have to different viewing modes. the multiple track list, and the single track list.? well using the jogdial in single track it controls the volume and pauses the track. but well in multiiple track you move the jog dial up and down, then press it in to switch tracks. You can also switch between these modes with the jog dial. By holding it down for about 5 seconds.

Thanks for the tips re. the jog dial. The only issue is that the built-in audio player won't player VBR files (which I have alot of). Anyone know if Aeroplayer or any of the others support the jog dial or any other hard keys?

Aeroplayer supports the ZXCVB keys, the same way that Winamp does, but since you have to open the UX to get at them it's probably not a lot of use.
