Help...what's a graphical writer?

Can someone in the know, help me to know what a "graphica writer" referred to in the instruction on how to create your own backgrounds in the new MegaLauncher developer page?

First off, I really don't know <g>.

But I looked at those Megalauncher instructions and if I were trying to figure them out, I would open the bitmap in something like Adobe Photoshop (or any other image editor), erase the included image and substitute a new one.

I have NO idea if that would work. But that's what I would try.
