Initial "Snap" impressions are as follows:

It is interesting - Four hours initial charge

The screen has a more "plasticky" feel when pressing the stylus to it. It has more flex / play.

It is less compact and more dense that the NX, but only time will tell how this will go over.

Since the camera lense does not rotate independent of the body, in order To take pics of anything other that yourself it will need to be held vertically in tablet mode.

There is a little switch located to the left of the lense to open a protective cover.


The keyboard buttons are more flush with the body facing.

The cradle is plastic - for some reason I envisioned metal.

No power button, it has a power switch like the hold button on the NX.

I like the seperate voice record button and a seperate "capture" button.

You must flip open a plastic hinged cover to access the cradle interface.

The only new app is SMS - Short Message - it is placed in a category called Telephone.

I now must wait out some charge time!!

Also the "bacK" button and the jog dial are in a slight recessed from the section from the rest of the body side.

I ordered from Microwarehose 2 days after the Sony announcement . I was told by the rep tha I was the first order placed.

As recently as Wed of this week - I was told by Micro it was still back ordered.

Then I got this email:

So far ok - but keep in mind -

The relationship so far has only consisted of my starring at it while charing in the cradle. we have yet to do dinner and a movie.

i will be transporting mine in my hand or in a coat pocket, to and from the car and set it on my desk during the day. i do not think it will be a 'hassle' carrying it briefly from place to place to my car and office and home. i mean usually even when I had a T665 I would carry it the same way. I think it's just a habit for me to carry it like that.

Can you play around with Picsel Viewer? If you think it will work with NX70 and can be extracted, can you (or other luck NZ owners) send us a copy of it to try out in NX?
