Search crashes NR

Hi!

I have a very strange behaviour of my NR70V:

Whenever I do a search it crashes when it comes to the address book search! I have the standart address book and the NX (OS5) address book running which did not cause any trouble so far...

Now I tried to delete the OS5 address book which causes constantly a Fatal exception when I try to launch the "old" standart address book:(

Could someone tell me how I delete the OS5 address book application w/o deleting the db of course because it seems to be connected to db which is also used by the standart address app!

I tried it with Filez and with McFile, no success...

I am not sure as to the cause of this problem but I would do the following:
1. Backup all the files (using the MSbackup,
2. Do a hard reset wich will restart the NR with the default ROM applications,
3. Start the MS Gate, go to the backup folder and delete any trace of the NX address book files,
4. Do a restore with MS backup,
5. Reset the device (when prompt to do so),
6. Wala...

A worning: If you are using FontHack, you will need to redefine all fonts after completing the above.

Hopefully you have solved your problem. This happened to me yesterday. I beamed over the address book to an old Palm 3. Then I deleted the address book with the built in del function which left me with an empty ROM address book. Then I beamed over the address DB from the Palm 3.

Now I don't have the fatal exception anymore.

...well that is what I did and it still crashes:(

one main question remains:

which of the following files can be deleted?
-AddressBook 138k (that is the NX file)
-AddressCitiesDB 1k
-AddressCompaniesDB 1k
-AddressCountriesDB 1k
-AddressNoteDB 1k
-AddressStatesDB 1k
-AddressTitlesDB 1k

do the above files belong directly to the AddressDB or to the NX AddressBook???

...of course I do not delete the AddressDB (in my case 106k)

thx for any idea:)

BTW I do not have the chance to beam the DB from one device to another and back...

Maybe someone could tell me what address book files they have on a "virgin" NR70, therefore I could delete safely files from above (2 postings ago)

u could do the reset when u hold the up button (the one when u go to the prefs) and then have filez/beembox on one of the button and then delete the adressbook db
