Hi,
I downloaded the trailer Troy, and hotsynced it. The only problem is, I cannot find it anywhere. The info says that Kinoma is 3645k's, but when I open Kinoma, the only file there is the sample of the dolphins. I just got this, and I don't have a memory stick yet, and I can't really afford to take up 3megs of space (I've only 2megs left).
In short, I cannot find this and it's driving me insane.

My student loan will be in very shortly (:D) so I'll get one then. My biggest problem now is deleting the file. It's nowhere to be found.
And a quick question: when I do get a stick, will I be able to put a Family Guy episode on it? Or if there is a process in viewing such a thing, can anyone link me?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

You should be able to find and delete with Filez (http://www.cliesource.com/sdownload/fileinfo.php?id=2260)

Remember when you have a SJ-33 or older one: You can only use MSs up to 128MB! These devices don't support MS Pro!

...really?
i bought a 256 stick today. i'm trying to sync some mp3's, and it's taking forever; far slower than i think it should be going...
does this mean i have to downgrade? it was on sale with a great price :(

Apparently it's 123megs on each side. So that's cleared up.
Now I'm wondering what the average time to sync an mp3 is. I can't do any more than one at a time, or else it seems to time out or something. And it takes about five minutes for a 5meg file. Is this normal?

You don't want to sync the files to the MS. The fastest way is to run the MSImport app on your Clie while it's in the cradle. You must have MSExport installed on your PC from the Clie install CD for this to work.
Once you have done this, the Memory Stick will show up as a drive in My Computer on your PC. Then you can move files to the MS in the same way you would on your hard drive.

When you have a MS with 128MB on each side, you bought the right one :)
MS Pro is white, MS is purple.
As cbulock said, use "MS Import" for transmitting MP3s to your Clie! It's much faster.
Put the files into the Card folder: Programs\Audio
I drag & drop 40 tracks of MP3 (3 hours long) from Windows Explorer to 128MB MS (shown as removable drive after you launch MSImport) in about 2-3 minutes. I put them in :
\Palm\Programs\MSAudio folder.

Sorry, "MSAudio" is the right name of the folder , I forgot :)

Thanks for all your help!
But does anyone know where I can find a manual for MS Export? I've reached the point of cussing at it; it will not let me select the drive, it won't do anything. It just keeps saying "No memory stick or no drive."
Check this Sony Onlie Support (http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/sosdocs/default.asp?src=sonysupport) under Documentation page.
Actually I never use MSExport. That thing is useless to me. I put the icon in the trash as I have trouble getting to my MS directory higher than /Palm. I was trying to see my /DCIM folder (for Sony digital camera) at that time, but to no avail.
The only useful thing for MSExport was for installing MS SCSI driver to my old PC with Win98se.
For my new PC and laptop with XP, they already have the MS driver so I didn't need to do anything to the PC. Just plug in the Clie USB hotsync cradle to the PC, put the Clie on the cradle, launch MSImport and the removable drive pops up on the PC screen. No need to install the MSExport whatsoever. I think this is true for all PC and laptop with XP as I checked it with 3 different brands (eMachine, Dell, and IBM).

I have win98. Do you think that's part of the problem?
And the online support says "Your search did not match any documents in the library. Please check your model number and try again."

You don't need to run MS Export on the PC, it just needs to be installed. But you do need to run MS Import on your Clie.

But what can I use to export my mp3s? SonicStage says it can't because of copyrights or something.
I feel like a moron.

I'm running in circles. Does anyone know of a step-by-step troubleshooting guide to all this?
SonicStage can only accept the white (MagicGate) MS. If you want to listen to MP3 with the regular (purple) MS, use other jukebox (I use Real jukebox) to rip MP3 from CDs.
Just tell us what did you do step-by-step, then may be we can figure out what you did wrong.

I installed MSExport from the cd, then after the driver installed, I clicked yes to reboot. A few things came up, as they always do with w98, and after clicking the Illegal Action things away, I had to reboot manually. Then, I opened up MS Export, then opened MS Import (which did a short install thing), and connected. Now all that I am getting when I click buttons in MSExport is No Memory Stick or No Drive.
How about when you open Windows Explorer, did you see the removable drive?
Don't worry about the MSExport. Just do the following:
1. Put your Clie on the cradle.
2. Tap MSImport on your Clie.
If your MS SCSI driver is installed properly the screen in your Clie should show:
"Connected to PC."
If you get that, then go to Windows Explorer and find the removable drive which is your MS. You can drag and drop, delete, cut, copy, paste, or whatever you use to do in the PC to the file in removable drive. When you do that you will see red dots moving from PC to Clie shown in the Clie screen.
When your done, the tap "Disconnect button in your Clie screen before you remove it off the cradle.

Once you are able to see the MS drive, the only thing you need to do to play MP3's is to move the files to the /PALM/Programs/MSAudio folder. It should already be there, if not, just create the directories.

I can see the drive, but when I try to open it or drop files in it, it says "There is no disk in Drive E. Please insert a disk, then try again."
I've got the MS in correctly, the lock isn't on, it's connected. Bah!
Can you see the MS with the Clie itself? What Clie and MS do you have?

I don't know what you mean, can i see the MS itself... I can't seem to see any of the files on my memory stick, except when I view them through Filez, or with the audio player or photo program.
I have the SJ33, with Lexar Media 256mb (128mbx2) memory stick, and I'm trying to use MSExport version 1.2.
Do you use FastCPU or After burner by any chance?
Check this thread (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2965) too for reference.

Nope, I don't use either.
Then the only thing can think of is to backup your RAM and MS then do a hard reset, format the MS with Card Info and do the following:
1. Put the Clie on the cradle.
2. Launch MSImport.
3. Go to the Device Manager (right click on "My Computer" icon and left click on Properties).
4. Scroll down to USB controller (at the bottom of the list) and click on the "+" sign to the left of the USB controller.
5. Double click on the "Sony PEG Mass Storage" to force Windows to recognize the driver.
Then Windows will usually recognize the new hardware. You may need to follow instruction on the screen to complete the new device driver installation.

How do I do a hard reset and format? I've looked in the manuel and online, but I couldn't find out.
Read Tanker Bob's Palm OS Device Page (http://www.tankerbob.com/palm/) on various resets. Hard reset is just pressing the power button while pushing the reset button, continue holding the power button until Palm logo appears, then release the power button, and follow the instruction on the screen to delete all data by pressing up button.
For MS format, launch Card Info, and tap menu button, or do a forward slash ("/") F.
