Is there any way to control Dish network with the RMC?  Actually, even better. . . is there a way to program your own definitions (like pointing the original remote at the IR port and programming every button).  I had another piece of software that could do that, but it seems senseless to install it when I can't seem to delete RMC!  If there isn't a way, is there a way to delete RMC?

I saw the x box work around on the yahoo group. It turns out that it's the same as an rca dvd controller. I think in mode 5, but not sure. Check it out

For controling your car you could use omni remote. It doens't take advantage of the enhanced ir but it does work from less than about 3 feet away (which should work unless you want to control it from the back of an SUV or something).

It turns out I was wrong. . . it is mode 1. . . here is the link to the group.  It wasn't at RMC enhancer it was on palmblvd.com (http://www.palmblvd.com/boards/sonyclienr70nr70v/messages/3321.html).

Here is the quote:

<BLOCKQUOTE>This might be of interest to anyone who has the Xbox.
I purchased the remote control for the Xbox so that I
could use it to play DVD movies. It promptly got lost.
I recently purchased the NR70V for my wife and decided
to see if the RMC would work on the XBox. It does,
you have to pick the RCA/mode 1 and away it goes.
Too cool!! My wife loves the Clie, I got the Brando screen
protector for it....quite possibly the worst 20
dollars I've spent in a while. I also got a
very nice Vaja case for it. This is one nice case. Ian

I don't have an xbox (I'm still a PS2 guy), so I haven't tried it. . . but let me know if it works.

I have an Xbox but I'm not willing to pay the price of a game just to watch DVD's...very stupid on Microsofts part, it should have been DVD compatible right out of the box, no need for a RMC just use the controller...I hope Xbox2 has this.

you might find it noteworthy that for a mere $200, you can have a mod chip and a 120 gig HDD in your xbox that allows you to store games movies (in all formats, even avi/divx) and you can play DVDs without the remote (controller controls functions) so blockbuster, couple $ to rent games, rip it to your HDD, and you'll make up all $200 in no time ;)
