what do you all think the profit of setting up a wisp? i mean renting out wifi modems, setting up a large scale hotspot. i saw an antenna that spanded 15 miles, i could set up multiple networks in different neighborhoods. in a single neighborhood of 10 you could see a return with 2-4 months depending on you price and cost. i mean think of modem rentals, access, memory, all the options only mean more money!!! im doing this!!! just thought id throw that out there?!

I don't see why people would want to rent out wifi modems for any significant period of time. I don't see a large demand in it either, I mean who is your target audience? And to pay for internet access is an ok idea, but there are enough wifi places already around in major cities that going to a place just for that probably isn't worth someone's trouble unless you're in a convienent place. I'm not quite sure what you're saying either, just trying to make things out. Memory?

Why would you ask how much setting one of these up would cost and then say you could see a return in 2-4 months?

Your investment cannot and will never keep up with the
changes in technology.

Any company big or small will eventually lose money because
this type of service can be offered free or a value add.

What's your value proposition? Why would people buy this service from you versus the other alternatives? Plus, this stuff is already cheap, so why bother renting it?

Where are you placing the antenna? In your backyard?

What about security?

Actually, you would probably go out of business on support costs alone.

so let me get this straight, you already figured out that this is an "aweseome business idea", but you can't figure out if the ux50 is worth it??

good luck trying to sell/lease your product!

lol ok ok you got me on alot of points. i did do some research, and set up some plans. when i posted this i missed a couple pieces of info. it is still a good business idea atleast in my eyes. the ux50 im holding off so i might be able to pursue this. i actually figured it up, i would actually break even in 8 months i dont plan on making a mass hotspot soon. i still got to do a survey to check my consumer group. ya its alot of work i know but i see it as a good business idea.
