I've finally decided to solve my CF vs Memory Stick problem.
I have a number of CF cards because they are MUCH less expensive than memory sticks. However I'm dissatisfied with playing videos off the CF.

I haven't been happy with the "long" format video quality. So I've converted most movies in "standard" format which requires a 256M. I didn't want to buy a bunch of 256M Pros because of the outrageous cost. When I put a standard video on a CF card I'm faced with problems. 1) If I stop and restart the movie I get into a mode where the only way out is to do a soft reset. 2) The video is split into ~100M chuncks. When the video switches from the first chunk to the second chunk it goes into the same mode - I can't stop the move, change the volume, or anything else. Furthermore the movie freezes up for a split second every 3 or 4 seconds.

So here is my solution. I purchased ONE 256M Memory Stick Pro. I'll use the cheap CF cards to store movies and copy them to the Pro for viewing! It takes a long time to copy 256M from a CF to MS but if I do it between movies I don't care so much.

I use the NX70V for watching movies on long trips where I don't have my laptop. I've been trying to figure out how to solve this problem without spending megabucks on memory sticks. I thought I'd pass this along to others. No big brainy thing but I though it was worth throwing out to the community.
