I have recently purchased my first pda, the nx70v. I have been looking for a land line modem to use with it and can't find one. I called sony and they told me it not available. They only have the one that works in starbucks. I don't believe them. Can anyone help me out?

There are a couple of IR modems you can buy.... Psion used to make one of them, but it's been discontinued. I think Pegasus makes another one.... do a search for Psion and you might find it on eBay.

there is also a CF card modem that you can use with drivers provided by a programmer on this board.... i'm not sure the exact thread but do a search on it and you'll find what you need!

ps the modem card i'm talking about is an analogue modem (i.e. you have to plug it into a phone cord to the wall)

I made a simple web page for the cf modem drivers (http://clienx_cf_modem.tripod.com/)

The ambicom appears to be the cheaper one for now...
The price range is $49 to $79 for the same modem...
You have to search the best price...

An alternative is a cable, bluetooth, infrared to a Cellular Phone.
