have you ever beamed from an nx70 to a toshiba e350?

i need some help, my friend john (as some of you may know he got a ppc.......yup toshiba e350, not the 355 cause they were sold out) well its his bday and i'm trying to beam contacts to him and music, (mp3's) he can give me anything, but i can't give him anything it can't recognize his but on his beam recieve screen it says my name and it says pending, anyone help me out? btw his ir port is TINY

he hasen't tried beaming mp3s to me but i'm gonna try that soon

I have a Toshiba e570 and a NX70V and dont have problems beaming contact, date book entries, to do lists etc...

BUT beaming other files such as mp3's is a completely different matter.

hmm well have you ever goten the toshiba to recognize the clie and the clie saying "there is no receiving device" or something like that

had good luck luck with the contacts , calendar events and the like, absolutley no luck transferring actual files between my NX70v and a varitey of PPC devices (My workplace is overrun with PPC)

any thoughts or ideas on this would be appreciated....

I'm not guaranteeing that this will work but try using filez to send and have the clie screen side down while the ppc is screen side up (this is the only way I have been able to beam stuff to my e740).

Well...obviously you have to align the IR ports. For example, on my ppc, the IR port is on the side. Also, on the PPC, go to settings, connections tab. Beam, and make sure its set to receive all incoming beams.

I would recommend strongly against transfering mp3's, because it takes a ridiculously long time (115 kilobits/8 ~ 14 kilobytes per second). This means at least 3-5 minutes per mp3, longer that it takes the song to play in most cases. It works fine for me if i beam with mcfile (filez appeared to only work with .prc/.pdb). But I'm using an OS4 machine.

Haven't tried contacts because my NR's contacts is buggy and crashes.

well it also seems that when he beams tasks from his to mine, it'll send the first task and then say "failed" on his, then try again and it'll say pending forever and a day

LOL :D somebody here suggested that when mine didn't work and I thought the same thing. But it did work.
