Jeff, from BlitGames, thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for everyone to post thoughts and ideas concerning Aggression!

A couple of ideas I had:

1) Make the game skin-able/theme-able. I got this idea from a new LOTR version of RISK I saw in a store recently.

2) Zoom in feature. While zoomed in, countries/territories might become large enough to view troops!

3) Transition effects during juggernauts. A quick battle scene, complete with sounds?

Any and all ideas are welcome!

I agree the game is too easy to beat.

If Blit is reading this, I have a request feature for their game. How about giving different personalities to the AI opponents. For example, one AI personality prefers to take a hold of the Australian continent while another prefers South America. Or an AI that prefers to blitz its way through a countries and AI that prefers to fortify only its borders. I've also noticed that you can reduce an AI's men at the borders down to 1 to 3 but it does not seem to re-"fortify" the weakened border.

Of course, all of this may already be in the works but in case it isn't, I just want to bring it out there.

Great game. Well worth its cost.

Games great, just finding I start a game with friends at school and then want to keep that going for the next day while brother goes and starts another game that evening...it would be nice to have multiple games active at any one time. Therefore would it be feasible to implement a simple save feature for the last 3 games maybe? Many thanks and keep up good work.

A save feature. Yeah, that would be great. :) Now let's just hope people at Blit are listening. ^^;;;

Hi Gang! :)

I can't promise how often I'll check in, but here's some comments on your ideas so far...

We are currently doing a major upgrade of the AI (1.09x). Initially, this will just make the AI harder, but we will be adding different personalities later on (likely in 1.10x).

We will be adding the ability to load and save multiple games by v1.10 at the latest, but possibly as early as 1.09x.

Also, while BLiT always uses customer feedback (via forums or email suggestions) to prioritize which features to implement next, we are hoping that by 1.10 we can set up an automated voting web page so people can pick their favourite new features to add...

This game is great, but would really love to see:

1. The Mission card element of Risk introduced.

2. Also (although this may be there and I missed it?) it would be good to have a way of reducing the number of armies added each go - as per the Risk version where you collect sets of Risk cards (Aggression Points)

3. Finally - as this is where Risk comes into its own - some means of making agreements with other parties to keep borders uncontested for a number of goes, or to gang up on another player . . . might stretch the AI a bit though! :-)

Despite that - I love this game! Fantastic.

Yay! That's all good. :) Thanks for checking here. Can't wait for the next release.

I tried Aggression a couple of months ago. Very nicely implemented but please add my voice to the people asking for better (much better) AI. I know that the highest level of AI isn't enabled on the trial version but I found it so easy to beat it, even when I made a silliy mistake on one game I still went on and won, that I really can't believe that the paid version will give me much of a challenge.

Are Blit still monitoring this thread? Could someone give some comments on (a) how much stronger the AI really is on the paid vs the trial version, and (b) how much work is going into strengthening the AI in the near and medium term future.

To answer part b of your request for comment: read here: http://www.blitgames.com/Download.asp

I've corresponded with Blit a few times over the past 6 months and gathered that they are VERY busy with something new, working in update time for Aggression when they can, also when they are not tied up with their full-time jobs.If you write to them, I'm sure one of the Blit dev's would be happy to answer some of your questions. They've always been quick to respond for me. :)

Thanks for the pointers Filber, the news does look encouraging.

I saw mention to another project at the end of an interview with one of the main Blit people. They mentioned a sci fi game that was a combination of arcade reflex and trading game, I assume this is the project that is taking up their time now. Sounds a lot like the original Elite to me, which would be good fun. I wonder how such a game would run on our TH55s though.
