Does anyone out there know how to hack the values of the brightness slider? When I first bought my T665, it was bright enough, even on minimum brightness, to sustitute for a flashlight. Unfortunetly, it seems to have gotten dimmer, so that now when it's on minimum brightness, there's not a lot of difference when I turn the backlight off and on. I think it's a software problem, because it has reverted back to full brightness every so often? Anybody have any idea what's going on?

Hmm...never seen that one before. Did you try hard/soft resets? i too have found that the screen is verybright on minimum brightness, and I do use to see it for trips at night to the bathroom! I haven't found a hack or app that lets you set the brightness down past minimum brightness....it is amazing how much battery you save though on minimum brightness. Brian

Thanks for writing Brian! Unfortunetly, resets don't seem to be affecting it. I've ended up doing a lot recently, so I hope I haven't been frying the backlight. It's annoying, because the whites aren't really that white anymore, they're more gray. But, it does save batteries!

There's an app called Energy Dimmer that overwrites the Clie software, making it possible for the user to put any level of light in any given moment on your Clie, It can also give you an option to automatically lower the level of light when your not touching the screen for a period of time and then back up again when you do, so it safes you power but I the same time it lets you use the Clie with enough light, it makes the Clie smart. you can find it here: http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=52025720030126200036&prodID=28880

Maybe this could help you. Good Luck!
