so my question is, with all the NZ bashing on this site, how many people are going to buy and NZ, even with no CF support

I need to see it in person. I have a feeling I will like it, but I gotta be sure. That's a lot of dough right there...

While I have NOTHING against the NZ, I won't be upgrading to it. The NX70V is just fine for me.

I'm 100% agree with you jbarr, not only because I've just bought the NX.
The NZ is a good PDA but not really new.

It looks sweet but just to big for me.
I'll hang on to my T615 for a while.

Ahhh…. the old broken record here!

Release CF drivers, and there will definitely be a NZ bulge in my pants pocket!

I just bought the Tungsten and gave up my NR70v. I thought the NR was too big, so no. I would not buy it.

It looks a little big to me... so I'll probably wait to see it up close & personal-like at a local Best Buy. I might try to maximize my replacement plan to get for as little as I can... I bought my NR70 last June, so I'm almost up to my usual 9-month upgrade period. :)

I just got done playing with it at Circuit City. I put it in my pocket, and it's about the same size as my NX in a leather case. Not small, but if you need all of those features in a device, then I feel like you are probly the person who can deal with a little size.

I am not going to upgrade just because it doesn't offer enough above my NX for me to shell out the cash. I would love bluetooth, but I can do without the 2meg camera (the 1meg on my NX has been fine so far), removable battery (NX has passed my expectations on battery life), and flash. To me, it is still the same unit as the NX at the core. If it were 400mhz running OS6 with 32 meg of RAM or something rediculous like that.. then I would consider upgrading. I guess the main point is that I feel like I dont' need a new unit until something substancial comes out.

I may end up going for the TG50.... arg... If I could just hold out for VG...

i won't be purchasing the nz for 2 reasons:

1. my husband will surely hide my wallet and checkbook to ensure i don't spend any more money on any non-necessity ever again. i already get enough ribbing about upgrading to an nx from an n710c after owning the n710c for 1.5 years. i have gotten enough grief to last me for a little while longer!

2. my nx is great so far and can't really envision needing much more for the moment, especially since i don't need a 2 mp camera to carry around with me nor do i need bluetooth.

so, i'll just ogle the nz at my local best buy until i'm up for some harassment (all in fun!) from my husband until the next generation of clies comes around...

I dont think Ill upgrade or change PDAs till I can find the following for $500 - $700:

gotta keep the VG
more internal memory (i think minimum of 32mb)
more storage options (dual MS slots. real CF usage options, etc)
built in BT or some decent form of wireless
similar size to the NX (I could go a tad bit bigger, but not like the NZ)
and more general hardware add-on options

Once I see all that for less than $700, Im right there.

I dont really see the point in the upgraded camera. Its not like Id do a real photo-shoot with my PDA so it only makes sense to buy a good camera as a different device.

I think thats all I have to say about that. So I vote NO to buying a NZ.

Now if someone gave me one.... Im sure i wouldnt "kick it out of bed" as the saying goes, but I still doubt it would ever replace my NX.

Well the new Garmin will be out soon, plus I am sure as heck there will be more Sony models to choose from. Hopefully they will be smaller and better with the existing screen size. Oh yes, more memory! The NZ just doen't have enough going for it to give up my NX yet!

For me, it's not enough of an improvement over the NX to justify the switch.

If the video recording capabilities were improved (320x224 rather than the NX's 160x112) I might think about it. If it could record 640x480 full size video, that would do it for me. But as it is, the NZ video recording capabilities aren't any better than the NX.

I'm extremely happy with my NR70V, so no upgrade for me. If the device was smaller and the price was smaller, I'd go for it. But so far, neither the NX nor the NZ series are compelling me to upgrade.

Which is kind of a bummer. Come May, I'll have had my NR70V for a year, and I'm not used to keeping a PDA that long!!

OK Just came back from SonyStyle NYC

I saw it, held it, played with it

!. It after all is not that big!

2. Camera very very nice

3. Plastic Bezel around screen wider than NX, makes screen look smaller (Optical Illusion)

4. Well Made, feels lighter than it's weight

5. Stupid little cheap door over the Sync connector on back is the worst thing.

The problem is, when I purchase my N710C my wife purchase a female turtle... The male turtle, bought with my old Palm IIIC, f*ck the female all the time... after 4 month we have 4 turtles ( the PalmIIIC turtle, the N710C turtle and 2 new more), I passed 4 month trying the reproduction proccess with the IIIC and the N710C (because I expected 2 more Palm) with out any success...
Now I have an very new NX70V with a very new NX70V female cat...
I'm scared... no more PDAs for me...
