As one of many beta testers I have a head start on most of the public and have completed about 70% of the game. If you have any problems with quests or questions about the game, post them here and I (and maybe some of the other players) will be glad to help.

HI Deaton,

Just red the review on the PDA 24/7 website and the description on Redshift's. I couldn't find a description of the storyline anywhere!

Hoping you could tell me if the storyline is adequate or if it's the typical RPG fare....

thanks!

The "story line" consists of multible quests in each of the 3-4 main map areas. The first level, available in the shareware version, is fairly simple but they get progressively more difficult as the game progresses. I'm most of the way through the 3rd level and the efforts to solve and explore the different areas of the map are absolutely the best - on par with anything I have seen on the PC even. I dread what is waiting for me in final area...

I've noticed a popup when you enter the town of Decrantes which says something to the effect of "you hear bottles and rumbling there is a tavern that might have companions..." I go to it and there are no companions or whatever:(

This is a hint (the only one you will get) that you can click on the barrel (and other items within the game) and open it to find stuff. You will need to face the barrel with it on the left of your screen and then tap it to open it.

The tavern is north of you. Look at your compass...

found out how to get companions. Didn't like my crop of companions so I am just me. Explored the entire town of Decrantes, got a shield and some leather armor, went to kick some spider butt. Fine with the lesser spiders, but the regular spiders, eggad.

They tell you that one in the game:p I'll look again to see if I missed the tavern, but did not think that I did, but who knows. I seem to miss alot in this game even though I cover lots of ground.

It's best to get your companions early on so that they can begin getting experience. If you don't like the selection, you can swap them out at the next town - or sometimes even subsequent visits to the same inn. (Be sure to take all their inventory items before sending them packing...)

I found opal rings, Amulets, preist necklace, gem necklace, necklace with medal, clothes, helmets, axe, money, potions...

I have to write down what those things do cuz I forget and they don't say when you find them.

Tixx, Don't worry about writing them down. If you open your inventory and tap on the item is will display a description ...

It does, but not to the extent you see in the shops where you purchase those exact same items. None of my "found" necklaces list what they do, nor does the ring or amulet. On the other hand I found a shop somewhere that sold them and listed exactly what they do and to what extent (number scale).

Items with special attributes actually display them. Items that are "junk" just say AC:0 even though it may say that it is a magic amulet for example.

The necklaces when on display in a shop show adding strength, intelligence and something else. The opal ring says AC:0, but in the shop it was like +15 something and cost in the thousands of dollars. I'm just not understanding that.

Deaton
12-18-2003, 05:06 PM
They are different necklaces - some have the ability to add attributes to you and others don't. Try buying the one that says it adds +15% of something and then look at it in your inventory...

So a found item and a bought item of the same description can be of totally different use in this game? I'm not understanding the logic behind this part of the game. I mean potion found is the same as potion bough, Axe found is the same as Axe bought, Helmet found is the same as Helmet bough, money found is worth the same as the money you start with...so why would this not apply to necklaces and jewelery?

darhorn
12-18-2003, 05:22 PM
The thing is, that items and swords can have different attributes put on with them

so an Axe found is exactly the same as an Axe bought, but an Axe bought is different from an Axe bought that has a +15 hp attached to it...

there are a number of swords in the game for example, and a lot may look the same, but have different magic attributes attached to them...

Deaton
12-18-2003, 05:23 PM
Necklaces, jewelry, weapons, and armor can all have different attributes regardless of whether you bought them or found them. If you found an opal ring it amy or may not have the same properties as the one you found in a store - or even the next one that you found. They're all opal rings, but only some of them have special attributes and those attributes might change from one ring to the next.

Thanks, just needed to know that was the factual logic in the game:)

There is some limited help built into the game (accessable through the main menu) but I think my review (you can get to it at http://www.redshift.hu/legacypalmfr.htm ) probably has the most information in it of anything written to date.

Oh, and I agree with some of your suggestions for the game such as marking the map and a larger view of it:) They were things I was thinking before reading you review:) The other ones I'd second as well.

Tixx: maybe you should try to go complete another quests first, if the Gnomes are too hard... For example, try to explore the first, starting small forest - there is a small cave where lives not too tough monsters (if you are not alone in the party, of course).
Or try to kill the spiders in the catacombs...

And of course if you find a lot of stuffs anywhere in the world, you can sell them in the shops to get extra money and buy better weapons, spells and armors.

Mana: this is the spell point's name. The mana potions (the blue potions) are for refill that, when you are out of mana because casting spells.

:) I guess I killed all those green spiders which I think was a mission and didn't realize until now and need to try going back into that cave and getting those lizard monster guys in the forest. Thanks for the tips:)

I recently realized I could sell things and have made a little extra cash:)

Thanks for the mana use. I had no idea what it meant:)

Hey Tixx, the spiders WAS a quest! Did you talk with the bartender in the inn?

Potions, just for get it clear:
Blue, violet: refills mana (partyly, full)
Red, yellow: refills hit points (partly, full)
Green: just tap on that twice in a character's inventory, if that character is poisoned
Gray: if the character is paralyzed, try this to solve the problem :)

I talked with him in the beginning, but maybe I need to go back now. I like this game:)

I guess I need things defined, like what is a "hit point"? I'm not a big "gamer" person so that stuff is all new to me like mana is our ability to cast spells or whatever...thing like that:) So yes, I'm quite the novice here and appologize for any not so brilliant questions in advance:)

hit points are a measure of health, and how much damage you can take before dying...

like my character has 190 hps, so can take that my points of damage before getting turned int a grey skull :)

Of course, David, of course. But when Tixx talks again with the bartender, he will know what to do. (I hope. :) )

Just a tip, Tixx: you can break some cracked walls, when you hit them...

Tixx: hit points are your lifeforce. The green stripe below your character's face. When it comes down to zero, you'll die.
The blue stripe is the mana (or spell points). When it comes down to zero, you cannot cast more spells, you need to refill them. (With the potions, healing spells, or with sleeping in the tavern.)

You always can see your exact attributes in the inventory's second page (attributes). Hit points: Hp. Spell points: Sp.
Strength: Str, Dexterity: Dex, and so on.
These things determines your ability to get further in the game, kill tougher monsters, cast greater spells, etc.

Sylon/Redshift
12-19-2003, 12:29 PM
BTW, David: I just heard from Stewe that you have some difficulties with the Home of Ignorance dungeon... :) Did you solved that yet?
Remember: you can turn around sometimes, not just go and go forward in the passages and teleporters. :)

Tixx
12-19-2003, 12:30 PM
So:
Dam: is how much damage I can do per swing or hit
Ac: My armor or protection
Hp: How many points I have to lose in battle
Sp: Spell points I have left to use to cast spells
Str: strength
Dex: Dexterity
End: Endurance
Int: Intelligence

hey all,
I loaded this game last night... It looks seriously awesome, and a game I would love to purchase.

However, the game keeps crashing on me. I am using a Clie NZ90, everytime I attack with a spell or weapon the game freezes. Also I noticed that I can not play this game from the memory stick (using zlauncher).

So, I loaded the game onto the internal RAM, gave myself an extra 3 megs of free space on the internal RAM, and it still crashes on attack??? Anyone have a solution, or had this happen???

I desperately want to play this game!!!

Okay everything is working!! Running Legacy from the memory stick, and now I have the "landscape" and "sound" controls on the title screen. I think giving myself 4megs of free RAM solved the problem. prior to having 4megs free, i did not have the landscape option, couldn't run off memory stick, and it kept crashing! All is well now!!

You are on your own, volcanopele?
Recruit quick some other party members! Without this, you always gonna die... If the current hirelings are not so good-loking to you in the inn, just sleep a while, and try to get other companions after 12 hours.

Your party must contain at least one magic user... A battlemage and a cleric is the best pair to the back of the party.

Vulcanopele: you killed N'Gora? Whoa. Yep, if you see gray 'plaster' housewalls around yourself, you are in the second city. :) If you don't register the game, you never can be here - so, you registered it. :)
More cash? Well, if you clear every barrels, vases, 'decorative doors' and sell anything unnecessary stuff, your cash will be higher.
And of course you can play some card game in the taverns to get more. :)

When I play the game, I never purchase 'healing potions', because I always use what I find in barrels and vases, and cast the healing spells of my cleric. So I need just mana potions. :)

The Morah level is an add-on level, for characters up to level 2-3. Just load it, install in Legacy's directory, and of you go in a Global Teleport, you'll find Morah's name on the map list (with green colour - the normal maps are always with gray).

Trixx: you'll find the gem soon - before the second city. (I hope. :) )

1) I'm stuck in "Tower Level 1", how do I get past the pits by "servant of fire - guarded by secrets" and "Servant of Ice - guarded by secrets"?

2) What can you use "Father Hranemus' key" for?

3) What can you use the "Amazon key" for?

Sylon/Redshift
12-20-2003, 11:48 AM
Wow, you are in the Tower? You are quick. :)

1. Search for secret buttons on the walls for these rooms... There are 2 rooms (connected by a teleporter), and the 2 secret buttons closes 1-1 non-moving holes in the other room. :)

2-3: You don't need these keys - if you don't ever want to go back in Hranemus' cellar or the Amazon-Barbar Cave again...

Next I tried my hand at the Home of Patience. I have explored the areas to the North, East, and West and have gotten 2 winged keys (from the east and west) but can't find anywhere to use the keys (of the red or gold winged keys for that matter...) and no orb at all. What am I missing?

Finishing the Ignorance map: congratulations!!! But you don't need to draw the level on a paper, just don't go always forward and forward - turn back sometimes. :)

Home of Patience: ugh... This is Stewe's map, so let's wait for his answer... All what I know for sure is you must search for secret buttons on the walls - always, in this map. Or ask Darhorn to give you his map - he exported the whole map as a picture if I remember it correct...

(I hope. :) )

I'll do some more looking for that gem. And Trix are for kids!:p

Anyways, what are the rules to that card game? I just put cards down and have no clue what I am doing as I end up with nothing.

Getting way ahead of me here:) I just remembered some advice and that was to sell things I didn't need (well at least think I don't need at the moment) to raise some cash. I sold a fancy cane with endurance and a knife with +1 poison all for more mana before dealing with the outlaws. We'll see. I didn't want to give up those items, but needed mana bad and they were worth alot to sell. Around $600

Now have both keys. Now trying to figure out these holes at servant of fire - guarded by secrets, as described above.

Thing are starting to hit their stride now. For me, I am now specializing my characters in either blades and swords while selling hammers, clubs, and daggers when I find them.

Biggest developm ent, my cleric now knows teleportation :)

Tixx: well, just for a test, I restarted the whole game again, and here are my current state after arriving the 2nd city (and completed killing N'Gora, of course): after purchasing 1-1 sabre for my fighters (for 1000-1000 gold!) I have now another 2000 gold!!
Of course I sell every items I don't need (yeah, the wolf's fur is also saleable).
So the demo section (the first game section) is not too hard, if you know the correct way, and complete all quests. :)

The card game: it's a very simple game, every card contains a spell from the game (protective or offensive), and you must 'kill' the opposite player - his hit points must coming down to zero.

Lordgeejay: well, the doors which are 'guarded' by 1-1 floor swithces, are just stucked - hit them to make them open.
Of course it's not the most important thing in this map - try to find secret buttons, get some keys, and open the main door in the room what contains many coloured floor switches - but remember what said you a guy in the city from this room. :)

Vulcanopele: specializing is a good choice - if you have characters which can be specialized. :) For example, a knight can use very well blades, but a swordmaster not - this class excels with swords and sabres, of course. And so on.

Alright, I complete 5 all five missions and Killed N'Gora. Dumbest thing I did so far is with the spikes coming out of the ground. I walked on them (and then the "action gamer" in me wanted to jump around or something) and then stepped on them again:rolleyes: I killed my mage and almost my whole crew. They were on the brink of death.

Got a replacement battlemage now and am in the second town.

Questions:
What are "charges" that go with some of the wands and stuff? And how do you get them?

Is there a place that defines the scrolls and books to better know what they do?

Things I really liked:
Graphics of people in the beginning of the N'Gora section (very cool!).

The lichen stone in the woods:)

Picking flowers for peace:)...

Also what is the effect of "Bless"?

Sylon/Redshift

Tixx: you replaced a level 5 mage for a level 1 battlemage? Not so good deal... Or you get the battlemage in the second city's 2nd level inn? Then it's OK, it contains level 5 characters. (But stays open only at night-time.)
I hope you know that you can advance your characters' attributes when you gain a new experience level. :)
Charge: it's just shows how many spell is in the staff. Useful only for non-magic users, I think... (For example: a dull highlander also can cast 'raise dead' spell a few times - but he must pay for that hard. :) )

Pontif: in your inventory/magic screen you can read detailed info from every spell you have. (Just tap on the spell's name.)
Detect mind: shows a monster's level and actual hit points. Useful against BIG monsters. :) Or if you want to know exactly how many damage you did on the enemy last time.
Bless: increases you attack skill (dexterity, strentgh) for a while. The effect (and every spell's effect) depends on the spell caster's intelligence.

A live level one is better than a dead level 5. My battle mage has made it to level 4 now and I protected her with some charms for the time being:)

For your definition of the Curse spell it says:

"Lowers the damage and defenses of an enemy..."

I think you'd mean

"Increases the damage and lowers the defenses of an enemy..."

but am not sure

And I don't understand the definition of Betzerker: "This spell will improve damage (increase or decrease and for whom?) but will reduce defense (again not clear)

I think it means "Increase damage to enemy, but decrease your defense"

Okay, I am on the second level of the tower on level two. I solved the walls to walls puzzle to get behind the purple wall. I pretty much solved the teleporters to teleporters puzzle (at least I explored a whole lot of hidden walls). Anyways, the holes to holes things has me beat. The holes starting out are on some timed sequence. There is a warlock (or the like) kicking my @ss and I can't get near him because there is a permanent hole right in front of him. Now, I presume there is some switch or something but I am dumbfounded.

And yeah: ranged weapons are also planned in the future! Like a bow in the cleric's or mage's hand, if he/she is out of mana, but want to do something in a battle. :)

Vulcanopele: thinking of finishing the game before Christmas?? It's maybe a joke. :) You are now (Tower level 3) still in the first half of the game. :)

The Tower level 3: yeah, needs some graph paper to make it clear. (If you don't step into any secret teleporters which can pretty much confuse the whole mapping. :) ) The levers moving walls to clear a way in the west side.
The 'seeing throuh walls' just want to mean that without mapping, your only chance would be that to get across this level. Sorry, my English is not the best, so if some hint or definition is not clear in the game, just ask. :D

Hmm... maybe somebody (who has finished the game at least once) could make a walk-thru document for people who are stuck. Of course, there is the possibility that some individuals will rely totally on it then claim the game was too easy.

As for the crucifix, it should be in that cellar. I had a hard time finding it back then. Sorry I can't remember the details on how I found it but it is there. Look for big cracks (as in big) on walls. Hit it. It may be hidden behind one.

Hi all. I'm new here. This game is great. Reminds me of Might & Magic before it became 3D.

Am currently in Tower 1 and got a couple of questions:

1. In the 2nd city/town, there are 2 doors which are locked. Any idea where to get the keys?

2. Having reach this far, I have only 3 coins. Is this expected?

Any advice will be great.

volcanopele
12-23-2003, 01:47 AM
1. Those two doors should be locked at this point. At this point, I wouldn't worry about them. However, after finishing the tower, you should have the necessary tools to open at least one of them. You can open the other if you go back and look for one more coin.
2. Starting at the tower, I had three as well. there was another one I should have found before the tower. The last one is in the tower.

Just a status update for me: I'm still in World three (I know, what a shock). All I can say is that, this one is really complex  I am in the frozen dungeon right now. I just pulled a lever after punching come buttons on the wall and placing objects on floor sensors. At this point in the main room of the dungeon, I have two locked doors in the frozen dungeon and another locked door that I presume goes to the fire dungeon. I have quit for the day but tomorrow, I need to check out what that lever did and find out how to get to those two locked doors (which I presume gets me into the fire dungeon). I have the needed blade for any flying lizards I may come across.

- tower level 1

What dungeon? I can't seem to find this gem. I'm on level 1 on the Tower and I've went back but can't seem to find it.

I went back and finished Morah's Plan since Tower Level 1 is driving me crazy. Morah's Plan was fun little puzzle. Can the other doors in the bank be opened? Also, can the steps with the magical force field be penetrated?

BTW, great game. I purchased it the same day it came out. I finished DragonFire during the Christmas holiday last year and now Legacy is keeping me busy.

Tixx: the coins are un-saleable, as I remember...
Your ZLauncher-problem is Stewe's job, let's wait for his answer.

Dbytes: the first dungeon is N'Gora's dungeon. You must complete it, because it's before the Tower, or anything else in the 2nd World. So you was there at least once if you are now in the Tower...
The Bank doors: they are just stucked, hit them.
Steps with magical force field: sorry, I don't remember this in Morah's Plan. Can you write me exactly the place where you found them?

Well, I did not have a crash yet, but the game just froze on me when checking my characters supplies.

And one thing I noticed upon freezings like this which has only occurred once before is that when I put the frozen device in the cradle, both the orange charging light and the green on light are on at the same time making an almost yellow color. This might be helpful in solving that:)

I have an NX70 with 5488kb of RAM free, running it from card using ZLauncher.

For the Berzerker spell it says "This spell improves damages but reduces defense."

So I can damage the enemy more, but since that reduces my defenses it all allows the enemy to damage me more as well?

Hmm... I keep getting Fatal crashes, of various types on my TT. Actually the shareware worked great. After I purchased and registered, and played Morah's quest, I keep getting crashes. I disabled FitalyStamp, and all other stuff, and cleared up to 7.01MB (I use LauncherX if that helps), but it still crashes. There were two places that after resuming from saved game, it would crash consistently when doing something (opening a door, or trying to get to the gem shop in the second level, etc...). So much, so I think my save files have problems. I have restarted from scratch. Also, there was a crash upon exiting before, which causes a constant crash when starting Legacy. I solved that by erase the autosaved file (LegacySlot0 or something like that) in Filez and restarting Legacy.

Wonder who else running a TT and doing okay?

BTW, thanks for the tips on the Morah's quest. I got to the multicolored thingy and was stuck... I thought I tried beating on those stuck doors, but I guess not. Will try again in the future... Meanwhile, I'm back to redoing all the Level 1 quests... get those pesky spiders away!

I just went back to N'Gora's and it said it was a cave so I just assumed that wasn't it. :)

Kick doors in...Why didn't I think of that.

The stairs with the Magical Force field was in the hall before the bank vault.

Morah's Plan: yep, I just got it. I thought that there is a Wall of Force, and searched for that with the Editor. :) But no, there is nothing like that. I think that was just Stewe's joke (he did this map), because that stair has no function. :)
Stewe is a funny guy: the stucked doors - which are 'guarded' by some floor switches, just for confusing - was also his idea. :)

Fatal crashes on some devices: well, Stewe is busy now with the 1.02 version. :D

Tixx: yeah, you're right. Berzerker is a spell that makes you crazy in a combat - and a crazy fighter don't care about his/her defence - but does bigger damages. :)

Sorry I have just a few minutes, I'm in a strong debugging. Almost every freeze and crash I saw in this topic is fixed now, or I'm just fixing it. The 1.02 will be out soon, maybe a few hours later, up to 1 day later. (based on fixing success).

Btw anybody has a saved game before a freeze or crash that may be interesting to check - please send it to stewe@redshift.hu.
I'll do my best to solve all problems asap.
I like errors that can be reproduced :p

Having a few problems with the holes parts of the Fire empire. I have gone through every other door ecept these have holes that won't close in front of their repective magma servants. Otherwise so far so good.

Did you explored the whole 'check table'-like area of the Fire Empire? (To the south.) It contains a secret button what closes the two non-moving holes in two passages.
Otherwise you could send me your latest saved game ( sylon@redshift.hu ) and I'll see what can I do. Because maybe you have other problems - that map contains two "hard" places. :) One of them is a puzzle (with 6 doors, 6 shelves and 3 items) which is VERY hard... Deaton just got crazy during the beta testing when I revealed him the solution. :D

Weird cuz it's written on the wall, right beside that lever. :D ("Guardian of the Tower") So that lever deactivates the Wall which guards the Tower. Of course.

And yeah, in the 2 rooms (which contains the 2 non-moving holes) there is also a pergamen, which says: "Guarded by secrets" - so you have to search for secrets in that 2 rooms...

I'm already in world 2 and going through it but I wasn't able to complete Morah's plan. And it has always been itching me to get back there and finish it.

I still can't get through that door in the room with the multi-coloured buttons on the floor. I have Bank inner safe keys "A" and "B" but the 2 keyholes in this room don't unlock. There is a switch here that doesn't seem to do anything.

Changes in 1.02:
- less memory used - improved stability on T,T2, Zire 71
- drawing fix after power on (Tungsten E, Zire 71)
- rotated keys in landscape mode (T3)
- sound fix (Zodiac)
- support for application keys (T,T2,...)
- stuck door bug fix - all devices
- fixed map scrolling problems - all devices
- minor modifications - all devices
- from 1.01: solved DIA problems on T3

And of course the UX version is under development... :)

Just some hint:
There are a hidden pergamen here (behind a cracked wall), which says: "pair of doors - pair of shelves".
Well, you have 6 doors (see them!), and 6 shelves - but only 3 (worthless) items on them. Which shelf is the pair of which shelf, and what must you do with the items?
THINK. :)
If you do it right, you'll receive a message: "you hear a door opening". Three times. (Three closed doors are in the end of this whole passage.)

No, it's not a bug. You don't have to find the Dragon itself, just the items what he left behind when you killed him.

Allright, here we go (it's not a private message, because I don't want to write private messages everyone who can't solve this puzzle :) ) :
The doors are in pairs (just see them), and of course the shelves (behind the doors) are also in pairs. You must just "exhange" the items on the shelves - from the full shelf to the (pair) empty shelf.
I think you know how to put an item on a shelf... Open the shelf screen, tap on the yellow arrow (your inventory screen to drop items anywhere), and drop that item what you received from the "pair" shelf. You must do it 3 times of course. Every time you'll receive a small message: "you hear a door opening". (3 doors are at the end of the whole passage).
If you don't remember which items you received from that shelves, just try every 3 items on every 6 shelves. :) (fire hammer, fire helm, fire necklace - worthless items)

I found a bug, although minor:

I had the Ancient Dragon Sword equipped and then gave it to the NPC who requested it. I checked my stats and my damage was in the 73xxx - 7xxxx range. I could not read all the numbers as they were superimposed over the other stats, thus the xxxx. I wish I tried to attack an enemy with those numbers but I equpped a new sword without thinking! :(

Well, I'm going to try and find a door for the Redshift key before going much further after the spheres. If I remember correctly there were some doors in some past cities that didn't open or reveal anything.

Now in dragon liar. Facing the ice dragon, i have not managed to register a hit. Any reasons why? I do have the Mucous Dragon Blade as well as the Ancient Dragon Blade.

You must return Grendelmoore and find Negan to exchange the ice Dragon Blade .

Fancyland: sorry, Stewe is VERY busy now with the 1.03 fixes (and he is the programmer in the group), but he will "crack" your saved game today!

Ancient Dragon Blade/Ice Dragon Blade bug: OK, I'll examine it.

I must have picked up the items a while ago because there's nothing left! But I don't remember what I picked up!:(

What can I do?

But where can I go to the 2nd city?

Kitsune: read the newest answer on pdarcade. :)
(And no, you cannot pick up these items. These are just decorations, opposite to the levers.)

N'Gora key: the keyhole is there, in N'Gora's room. Opposite to the shelf.

THINK.
If you do it right, you'll receive a message: "you hear a door opening". Three times. (Three closed doors are in the end of this whole passage.)

Hi I read ALL the previous posts, but I still have not found the "hidden pergamen" anywhere that said that. I know I have to push a "button" and not attack the wall to find it, but I still can't find it. I feel like I've pushed every wall. Can you someone give me 1 more hint as to which room this button is in? Thank you.

You don't have to found the pergamen to solve the puzzle... That's why I wrote here the pergamen's message.
Just do what I said before in that puzzle.

Please take a quick check on the 1.03 version... now I have few hours until sleep, so I can make a few hotfixes if needed. I'll release it from the bed :)
Not a public one: http://www.redshift.hu/stewe/Legacy103.zip

if you see this post later, and you can't download the file with the above link: released, the final path will be http://www.redshift.hu/redshift/Legacy.zip

changes:
- nx/nz vg bug
- fixed door bug
- fixed item bugs (various - could lead to crash when you click on a face)

thank you!

volcanopele,

Sorry I can't remember where that blade was located. I had to run from the Ice Dragon until I got my hands on the Ice Blade.

Sylon,

The House of Tricks is driving me crazy. I had to put the game down for awhile to refresh my mind. I'm not understanding the hints provided on the signs. I'll probably revisit it tomorrow. Here I thought running back and forth from the Fire and Ice Empires was causing me a headache. :)

Any hint on the 2 doors in the Fire Empire that I couldn't open? The one with the sign "Choose one, forget the other"

Yeah, the house of tricks is also driving me crazy! For the 4 floor plates, I have advanced the wall till it would go no further. As for the passage, i simply couldn't figure it out.

I can't even get past the "holes to holes" and "teleporters to teleporter" At least I figured out the "walls to walls". Anyways I got the hole to close near the wizard and try to beat the holes moving toward him, but never can. Only thing I can see is getting a hit in, falling through the holes and doing it again. Guess it can be done that way:confused: The teleporters I have no clue. I go in those suckers and keep bouncing around the first 6 without advancing. Game idiot here, sorry.

tixx try the teleporter to teleporters part first. Look for hidden switches, broken blocks, and visible switches. don't get discouraged and you should find some opened up passageways in that area. The holes to holes area can then be tackled, just remember to time your movements.

I need your help very much.

I ran out of places to go...after talking to Mersant, he says let's go, but we don't go anywhere...do I need to find an entrance to a cellar of some sort?

Sylon/Redshift
12-28-2003, 05:54 AM
So, let's see:

"choose one, forget the other" in Fire Empire: you never can open all doors here, as the pergamen said: you have 1 key, but 2 doors to choose. It's up to you. (Behind the doors you receive bonus items. Choose what you want, just save a game before the doors to see all two of them. :) )

Tower level 2: no, it's not an "idiot" map, just you are not a "gamer" type person, as you said, Tixx. :) It's easy, just search for secret buttons close to the moving holes, and close to the teleporters. And try to "learn" the teleporters' target points to reach the one what moves you to the north, to the exit. This is a simple puzzle.

Home of Tricks: yeah, it's one of the final maps, so it's hard. :D Made by Stewe. Please upgrade to Legacy 1.03, with this the map will be "completeable" again.
"4 floor plates moving a wall" problem here: it's like a joystick. :) Just move with the 4 plates the gray filtered wall close to the another gray filtered wall, and "push" into it. The passage will be free.

Unregistered: after talking Mersant, get the key from the statue, and go back to the city to find the exit.

Fancyland: SORRY, SORRY, SORRY!!! Stewe always forgot to "crack" your saved game, because he was busy yesterday with the new version. I'll kick him in the *** now, don't worry, your saved game will be complete in a few hours!

If you can close at least one hole, you can stand there, and cast some attack spells to defeat that sorcerer...

lordgeejay
12-28-2003, 09:24 AM

You can close and open (for forever) only non-moving holes.
Like that one right front of that sorcerer dude.

...secret button... ...secret button... I'm starting to be an echo, I think. :) It's really such a hard thing to find it? It's right beside the holes!!

Forget to mention. I went back last night and got past the part of the House of Tricks that was holding me back. I somehow figured out past the "4 plates moving a wall." Now I have a force field to remove and 5 plates and 5 teleporters to figure out. I've not used my brain like this in a game in quite a long time.

dbytes:
Fire Empire: well, the "check table area" to the south includes a key in a shelf. That key opens the two doors - you can choose any of them. Cool bonus items waiting for you here... :)

Home of Tricks, 5 teleporters room: secret buttons. :) There are 2 of them. One in the room, one in the passage what leads into it.
Then you must pull some levers in a combo to get a wall open.

Home of Tricks, 4 Wall of Force passages: well, it's a HARD one. :D But a pergamen says there what must you do. Try to activate the 3 Wall of Force, AND reach the fourth one... (without deactivating the others!)

Tricks is definetly harder.. but lots of neat stuff.

Here's another hint.. don't forget you have a 'teleport' spell that takes you not only back to town, but when cast can return you 'where you were'
