Has anyone used one of these: usb charger/cable (http://www.ebcases.com/Detail.bok/d8c8e03cf357bfe1f1a?&category=Sony+Clie+PEG-T665C&start=1&total=10&no=173)

For $19.95, it seems to be a bargain.

I mean the options seem to be (for a second sync/charging station):

Another cradle for $49.95. Pros: its' the same as the first. Cons: it's a bit bulky to travel with.

The small dongle that comes with the T665C. Pros: It's small and it's included. Cons: You need to unplug the power cord from the cradle to use it and you need to buy a seperate USB cable with the correct ends. So that's $24.99. Essentially, if you want a completely seperate kit, it's $29.99 for the power cable and $24.99 for the USB cable.

Or $19.95 for this cable. The only con I can see is that you have to have a computer with you.

Any comments on it?

I have a Belkin cable that is a USB charger/sync cable that has a cigarette adapter that can added to the USB end so that you can use the combination to charge your Clie in the car. Comes in handy when you realize you're in for a long commute and your battery is nearly dead. I paid less that $19.95 for it, so I would suggest this one instead.

I have the Innopocket with the hotsync button on the Clie connector. Works as good as the cradle.

Seriously, look on eBay, I paid $14.95 (moonlight-tech) and got a 3 piece kit - the cable, plus an AC and a Car adapter that fit onto the USB end to charge without a PC. It's the ulitmate for travel. One cable, two small connectors and you can charge anywhere!

Oh, and BTW - you can get just the cable for $6.95 + shipping on eBay - I wouldn't pay $19.99 for something you can get for $6.99.

Just FYI! eBay baybee!

USB puts out only about 5.0 VDC. Your Clie needs 5.2 VDC, so charging it with PC (or LapTop) will take a very long time. Mine, N760C, is worst, since it requires 5.7 VDC. I tried to leave it charging through PC USB all night and it's like a drop in a bucket.  However the AC and 12VDC adapter work great. The price is certainly unbeatable.

I think Sony use a separate AC charger for that reason. I opened the Clie's OEM travel cable plug for HotSync and noticed that the wire that goes from USB power pinout to the Clie plug charging pinout was not connected. The moonlight-tech 4-in-1 travel charger/HotSync cable has the USB power pinout connected to the Clie plug charging-pinout.

I find that my T665 charges just as well with my USB cable as it does on the cradle.

You either have a super charge USB port or I have a wimpy one. The latter sounds more like it, especially with the 5.7 VDC requirement for N760C.

sometimes my innopocket cable doesn't seem to charge my Clie, even though the charge indicator says so. Don't use it enough to know for sure if it's still a problem. All I know is once, when my NR was around 20%, it just kept dying even though I plugged it into USB via the cable. I started a thread about it in Cliesource 1.0, but it didn't produce anything fruitful.

dongles :D

I read this at Palminfocenter

---review---
When I got the T665C, I got the odd feeling that someone at Sony might have been listening to me. One of the things I complained about with recent Sony models is that the power cord can only be plugged into the cradle, not the handheld. This means you have to buy a travel plug unless you want to carry the whole cradle with you on trips. The T665C comes with an adapter that allows you to plug the power cord directly into the handheld, saving you some money.
---end---

now I got the T675c which I think is Europes equivalent? no adapter, can someone post a pic of what it looks like? did we get stitched in the UK or just me :)

I too have the Innopocket model, and it syncs and charges my clie just fine. And its a real space saver too.
