on off switch not working

for some reason my on off switch just stop working. the hold still works. the switch still moves like how its suppose to. but it doesn't work anymore. can't turn it on or off, turn back light on or off, can't hard reset either. i took the battery out and that deleted everything and it still doesn't work. any other ideas or fixes?

is the hold "on" ... ? if it is then take it off hold and then try. I think that could be the problem. How else would you know if the hold was working or not if it doesnt power on in the first place ?

yea hold turns on and off, the seem like its working fine and not broken. its just when you slide it to the on side it doesn't turn on or off. right now i have to turn it on using the other hard buttons.

I got that problem, the power didnt worked,

my only solution was to take my Extended Warranty of BestBuy, go there and get a new one.

So, i think if you have no warranty there're two choices:

- Send it to Sony, wait from 1 to 2 months while they take your clie, fix it, and take it back to you.
- Open you loved clie, and try to fix it by yourself.

In that case youd better rush it to the nearest Clie hospital (Sony center ) ... I think there's some wire or part loose near the power switch ... get it checked man ... dont loose time ...

if it is broken i'll just live with it for now until a new model comes out so i can trade it in for that one. my friend works at where i got mine from. it started with a t665 6 months later upgrade to a tg-50 then 3months later upgrade to the nx-80.

should i wait for a new nx or maybe get the ux-50 or maybe the palm t3. the palm t3 is like $200 cheaper so i might beable to get a 512mb sd card for it also. but i already have like 4 128mb memory stick already, also my camera is sony so i could view the pictures. but if i get the t3 one of my camera also use SD memory so i could go that way. what would you guys do.

I'd personally go for the UX - it rocks ... waiting for the next NX .. well - u could do that but u'll have to live the broken one for sometime. I really dont know about the Palm T3 but if you want really good reviews go to the website www.pdabuyersguide.com. they test (give them a good workout) stuff before reviewing ... that might help you decide - yeah mem sticks are expensive but I'd suggest to stick with the Clie - UX is a good (though expensive ) idea - its worth it !!! all the best with ur new buy !!! :D

By the way ... have you tried doing a reset ... there is another thread on this forum that has the same problem ... trying doing a soft reset and see if it works ...
