I am a long time PC user. I just bought an ibook from my brother. Are there any issues with Macs I should know about? Are Clies compatible with macs "off the box"? Do I need anything extra?
Is there a specific model etc that works better with OS X? Do I need to have Palm OS 5? Do I need to have Palm Desktop 4.1?
Please help!!!!

Thanks!!

since you have osx there are some clies that work straight out of the box. those without mp3 capabilities will work, those with mp3 capabilities will not.

however, even those that work are not able to mount the memory stick on the desktop (for much quicker file transfers than syncing).

the answer is a program called missing sync (www.markspace.com). with this program, all clies can sync, mount ms on desktop, transfer mp3s to and from itunes, and transfer photos to and from iphoto. it is many orders of magnitude more reliable than syncing alone. imho it is a "must buy".

make sure you have the latest updates for osx (10.2.4 just came out a few hours ago), for palm desktop for mac (4.0), and missing sync (3.0.4).

welcome to the light.:p

Is this better than the rather unreliable PocketMac PocketPC third-party sync software for Mac?

The whole reason I'm switching (back) to the Palm OS is the difficulty I've had in getting this third-party "solution" to work.
