Stupide newbie question. The NX models have a type 2 CF slot. Hence compact flash type 1 would not fit/work in this slot. Correct? Thanks.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but...
The CF type 2 slot is backward compatible with CF type 1 cards because the CF type 1 cards don't use all of the pins that the CF type 2 cards do.

They have the same number of pins. CF2 is just a little thicker than CF1. But CF2 slots are backwards compatible. There is just a slight gap in the slot that a CF2 card will fill in.
