MS stores pixs but not mp3

Hullo. I just got my clie sj 33 and and still trying to figure out some of the things that it can do. I'm kinda stuck with trying to transfer and play mp3 on the MS. I can transfer images from the internal drive to the MS, no probs for that.
I have read the other threads here on converting the songs to mp3s, connecting the sj 33 to the pc and then transferring it to the MS. I followed it and I can see the file in the MSaudio file but it won't play.
Did I miss a step or more?

if you can see the files under the msaudio directory, and the files are mp3, then you should be able to play them with the built in audio player ...

The files are under the msaudio directory and they are in mp3 format, but they wont play : (

And they appear in the playlist of the player ?
Sometimes it cannot play if they have characters that are not valid (e.g. unicode chars) ..
