Your Clie comes with PictureGearLite which converts mpegs to gMovie format. It works pretty well and it's free. I converted some funny ads and a couple of music videos and they look and sound pretty good on my 760!

Sorry, I should have been more specific: Is there any converter that converts to 320 x 480 res? Thanks for taking the time to answer though.

I'd be interested to know too.

Converting is Irrelevant

TealMovie (http://www.tealpoint.com/softmovi.htm) is only $20. I know it at least does 320x320 and I think it might also do 320x480.

i was wondering how you use picturegear lite to convert videos

I assume you mean for the NX70.
Image Converter V1.x (free) or V1.5 (pirated patch available) works great with the built in movie player.
The other products typically require their own movie players.

I think IC 1.x it can be tricked to do 320x480, but you won't get a good frame rate. In general try 320x240 video rotate and scaled by the NX CLIE for best results. That's the default hires mode that comes with the IC 1.x that should be on the NX70 install CD.
[The newer TH, UX and VZ can handle higher bit rates]

Cliepet, are you implying that the original ic could do hvga video. Because if it could, I would consider reverting my copy of 1.5

I tried it a while ago with 1.1, but ran into snags. I don't remember if it was the video size (480x320) or the bitrate (768kbps) that made IC1.x choke.
There are other ways of encoding .MQVs, but the bottleneck is the player.

I don't think 480x320 video is viable for the NX/NZ (remember that's twice as many pixels as 320x240, and the NX/NZ can't handle the higher bit rates like the UX/TH/VZ).
The video optimized UX/TH/VZ, which can go up to 768kbps, can't handle 480x320 at 30fps (ie. 320x240 at 30fps, or 480x320 at 25fps will work)
