View Full Version : www.clievideo.com!!!
Let's get on this vendor to make this product available for all clies, and especially, to make a converter that allows converting .avi's to video. It looks like they have potentially the best player out there! Frame by frame playback, variable speed, sweet interface, etc.

does it really capture @ 320x240 or is that just a digital zoom?

I have this program. Well, I had the trial version, which expired before I really got a chance to use it. But all in all, it seemed like a great app. I captured a couple short videos and exported them to AVI. Very nice interface, easy to use, and only $30. Might seem a bit steep, but compare that to buying an NX-series to be able to capture video...

Vivid is much better for video capture than Fullscreen. I have them both (registered) and they are both fun to play with. Vivid is a bit pricey, but as someone earlier pointed out, it's cheaper than getting an NX.
It will capture at 320x240, and up to 30fps, but high frame rates only capture to internal memory, and it burns it up FAST!! It will do 8fps at 160x120 directly to the MS, and that isn't too bad.
Vivid also has a very nice interface. I don't mean to knock EJ. For the $10 he's asking his Fullscreen app is very cool (and it does more than video capture). But Vivid is a much more polished and professional looking app (and for the price you would expect that).

There wont be any cool apps for the NX by 3rd party developers, sorry.
SONY has not released the SDK necessary for using the camera on the NX [ and it doesnt look that they ever will do that for any CLIE again ], so noone but SONY can make such apps.
You cant even play sound on the NX, yes that is right, cant play sound on a OS 5 machine(!!!)
And you cant use the microphone, or play mp3files etc.
Want to be able to have cool multimedia rich apps by 3rd party developers?
Email SONY at cliemrktg@am.sony.com and demand that they release this info to us developers now.

I dunno, Zap 2016 has been updated with 'sony sound'. It works fine on my NX. I am pretty sure there are other apps out there that support 'sony sound' as well.
Just remembered, Bejeweled has cool sound too.

Yes, you can apply to get the sound SDK.And it takes several months. But SONY censors which apps that will receive the SDK. For example, an app that plays mp3 files will not receive the SDK, but a game will.

I had some trouble with the Vivid converter. It did not recoginize the .ext?
Any ideas on what I might have done wrong.
I have the Trail version now, would be interested in the registered version if i can get the converter to work properly.
