No they dont go on at all it says not a palm file if im not mistaken, i think i need to format the card or something so it has an image folder

0) Start MS Import on the Clie while it is plugged in
1) Go to Windows Explorer. You will see a Removable Disk
2) Copy JPG files to this "Removable Disk" (will take any other file too)
3) AcidImage will see every JPG on the card.

So i guess the things I read online that SJ22 doesn't support jpegs and you need to convert pics to a special form to see them, are not correct?

Me too. I haven't yet bought a memory stick so that's one question -- are there faster/slower versions of the memory stick? What's the largest size the SJ30 can handle?

On the OSX side, I have Graphics Converter -- which can provide most any file format, reduce the bit depth, and so on.

But I haven't yet found any clear explanation of what the process is.

There's TealPaint -- which can take a screen snapshot from other apps, but what bit depth does it want? I've tried it against images I can move -- with "SplashPhoto" -- to and from the OSX Mac. So far "unsupported bit depth" every time.

So I'm going to experiment with making a variety of possible bit depth images in 320x320, then importing them into SplashPhoto, then using TealPaint to make a screen capture.

But oh-mi-gourd this is indirect.

Isn't there a simple, clear way to
---- take any given image
---- automagically convert it to a suitable format for the PDA and ready to sync
---- open and edit the image on the PDA

I have 15 years of wildland native plant restoration images. I need to put little versions of them on the PDA, then go walk around the mountainside refinding exactly where each one was taken by looking at the horizon and lining the mountain peaks up with the foreground, make notes about how the location looks now (after the second forest fire since 1987) -- then set up my camera and rephotograph.

And I've been hauling boxes of color printouts, far from optimal.

Got to be a way to do this on the PDA. Anyone???

Stupid images ....

For the SJ30 and any other Sony devices pre OS5, the largest memory stick you can get is the 128x2. It's a memory stick with two 128 chips which you swap via a switch. As far as I know, there are no faster speeds available for pre OS5 Clies.

The faster memory sticks, the MSPros, do not work on OS4 and below I believe.

Sorry, I can't provide any assistance for your OSX problem though. I don't have OSX...

I heard that there was a Driver to put Pro (Which IS faster) on OS 4.1 but i dont know where it is or if it even exists.

There is only a driver for the OS5 devices for the Pro sticks.

Yes - the driver was for those OS5 Cliés released before the Memory Stick PRO was released ...

there is no driver for os4 to work ms pro, it sucks but its true, somthing to do with the structure, fat32 or some such gubbins
