Non-camera models can be had for as low as $429 at a reputable nationwide retailer. Scroll through the other topics for details.

That would be an NX60. I haven't checked NX70 prices recently but i am sure prices will drop when the NZ comes out. I paid $525 for my NX70 about 2 months ago

Not sure about the US, however in the UK, I bought mine new at 410 pounds but last night I saw Amazon.co.uk selling them at 399 pounds.

Refurbished models are a bit of a gamble. It's like buying a used car not knowing it's maintenance history. And when you consider the ( say, the moving parts) components that make an NX70, I would try to inspect the model before buying it.

Having said that, I bought the first-gen colour Clie (N770) as soon as it was launched and it served me for almost two years when brightness lamp + jog dial went bust. Because I had it under extended warranty, they sent me a refurbished model whilst mine was getting fixed (cos they had component replacements out of stock) and the refurbished model was 'okay' (noticed a couple of scratches etc). Eventually I got mine back and I was glad I did as the lamp in the refurbished model was a bit dimmer (had a slight beige tint) whereas my repaired original model was bright as white.

Look at eBay. If you are comfortable with doing it that way. If not find a friend that might be and ask them for help doing the eBay thing.
