I have a PEG-NR70V and have just bought a key for Kinoma. I must say that so far I am extremely annoyed.

I bought this on the strength of reading many posts and downloading sample files from users but I am having major issues.

Most of the time I get the message " .... cannot be played on this device. Delete .... ?" (Even pressing OK to delete doesn't delete the file !!)

I have tried encoding just the Divx file I downloaded or putting it through Divx Doctor and encoding but I get the same thing.

I have had the odd Divx file work but the sound stutters. There seems to be no correlation between the Divx files that work and the ones that don't !!!

I don't want to go through the time sonsuming hassel of encoding the Divx file into another format and then encoding into Kinoma - what's the point ?

If Kinoma say they support Divx then what the f***

Has anyone had a similar experience or can anyone help.

Cheers

Is this message on the Palm, or under Windows?

I Get this message on the Clie. One of the Divx files I had a problem with now works after I exported the audio track, uncompressed it, deleted the original and imported the uncompressed back into the video file.

However, I tried this on another file and have the same "... cannot be played on this device." error.

No consistancy whatsoever !!!!!!!

The Clie (NX series) can only play divx audio that's encoded as mono and very low (don't remember exactly) quality setting (maybe 8khz). This is Sony's fault for not releasing their specific audio libraries. I don't use Kinoma because it sounds horrible at the only usable setting.

Everyone knocks mpeg, but it works great for me from my CF card, in full stereo, and filling my screen.

Are you using the latest version of Kinoma Producer? Mine handles Divx files (which usually have MP3 encoded audio) fine. Image Converter chokes on Divx with MP3 audio, and needs to have the audio decompressed prior to processing. Sounds like it is time for a tech support call to Kinoma. Sorry.
