I'm developing a rather large database in SmartList that will be in the 10MB range when complete.  I would like to store it on a MS once finished but it appears that you can only copy/move/delete SmartList DB's once thay are on the card.  I've found no way to view them.  Have I overlooked something or is this not possible with SmartList?

I think the Smartlist documentation says that it has to copy a db from the MS to ram to load it. It can't read right off the card. Do you have enough ram to display a 10MB database??

Hopefully Dataviz will improve on that, since its other products are quite VFS friendly.

Thanks Anita........I thought that might be the case. I was hoping that it would remove from RAM once closed but it stayed there after being copied. I'll just barely have enough RAM to hold it once complete but Dataviz will have to correct this oversight in order for it to be useful to myself and others. It will have over 700 entries, each with a pic.
BTW - I was just looking at some other palm database apps that have this capability.............hope they work that in soon.

When Dataviz was buying ThinkDB and renamed it to SmartListTG I was hoping for a soon update to come. Unfortunately they didnŽt update it as of yet (only some minor bugfixes). IŽm waiting for a hires version and the ability to work with databases stored on the MS. Since I have lots of data in lots of databases IŽll wait for an update. Too much work to convert this to another database app:(

I'm inclined to wait as well......although hopefully not too long. I like HandBase 3. It appears to have good VFS support but only handles black/white images - no good for me. I'd like to see HiRes+ support as well.
Why does it always seem that 3 or 4 different apps of the same type will have all the features you're looking for instead of just one with them all.....arghh!
Well.....not always. ZLauncher covers all the bases for me :)

I'd love to see true high-res (small fonts) in Smartlist. But I've used ThinkDB forever, mostly for little manage-my-life databases, nothing as huge as what you're talking about. I can't live without it.

And werul is right, the only update Dataviz has done since it branded it was to fix bugs Dataviz introduced into what was working perfectly before that <g>.

Is anyone running the application itself off the memory stick? I'm thinking about giving that a shot, see how well it works or if it slows it down much. It's 800K plus . . .
