Ok i've just ordered my NX73v and i've just downloaded pelica's cf driver files and the adapted movie player and clie camera so how do i replace the built in player/camera apps with these new ones do I just delete them with something like filesZ and then reinstall the new ones or will that kill my nice new clie???

You can't delete the old ones because they are stored in ROM (Read Only Memory). However, if you install the new ones like you would any onther program and soft reset the clie will recognize that you want to replace them.

Thankyou for your response.
how do i do a soft reset on an NX 73v , I assume the new apps then just over-write the old ones and don't take up extra rom space.

Why dont you just use SONYs built in CF driver? Pelecas is (I think) for the NX60/70. Then use mini's multimedia patch. It works along the ones in ROM, exept the ROM ones use the MS, and minis use the CF.

where can i get mini's multimedia patch ? i got something from pelica's site called CFUtility 1.0.8.exe is that it (i was told they may be bundled together) or is it something different ?
I have also downloaded ClieMounter.prc which i understand helps identify and control the CF once it's in place.

Hey
I have the nx73, and it took me a while to figure it out too....
First of all, since there's two "generation" of nx out there.
There are two paths, in fact very different paths to get the CF slot to work. Thankfully the nx73/80 has a much easier path.
Let me just tell you what I did, and perhaps you will understand how easy it is.
First of all, delete all the previous driver/utility/hacks you put on the clie. And make sure you remove all of them you don't want any conflicts....(I Suggest a hard reset)
Once you have done that, basically you only need to do a few things, first download the SonyMMLIb from
http://www3.telus.net/overcoil/SonyMMUtilLib.zip
I am not too sure what that does, but it fixes some bug in the music library of the nx73.
Then, proceed to download the "hacked" audioplayer/videoplayer.
Note that this is not really a hack, it's just the audio/video app that's on the UX device. (Because the ux has no cf slot, those audio/video apps are not cf blocked)
Get the audio/video apps from:
http://snow.prohosting.com/cfutil/AudioPlayer.zip
http://snow.prohosting.com/cfutil/MoviePlayer.zip
Now once you have done that, basically you have audio/video playback CF ability.
But if you still want Camera/movie recording/voice recording with the CF support, you will need the Mini patch which is here:
http://usagiya.g-com.ne.jp/mini/nx80vpatchEN.htm
Remember that the mini patch has audio/movie player apps too.
But those are seperate apps you will have to switch back and forth if you plan to use both MS and CF for music. And also with the Mini audio app, you can't use background playback.
I hope the above information will help.
Those were the steps I took to get my nx73 working. Although I never used Mini patches though, because I don't need CF ability with camera/movie recording/voice recording.
Reply here if you still need help or have other difficulties.

Hi everybody,
I could't download pelaca's patched drivers, though I cleaned the cache up (404 file not found). Could somebody mail these files to me please ? lephilconducteur@freesurf.fr
Thanks in advance :-)
