My T665 speaker is so weak that I have to place it next to my ear to hear it, but this is only true when I play MP3 songs, the alarm is loud and clear. I use my T665 as alarm clock every morning.

Does anyone know if this is normal or I set something wrong?

Did you adjust the volume in AudioPlayer itself?

Mine sounds fine when playing MP3; the quality is not as good as when using a headphone but it's still audible from a distance.

There have been many posts about the T665 speaker volume being very low. It really is pretty low.

If you want to increase the volume, someone sugested trying an audio equalizer program that will increase the size of the MP3 waveform.

Another person suggested buying a collapsible speaker/amp from Radio Shack. It works but was a bit to big in my opinion.

What I finally did was buy a Radio Shack Mini-amplifier-speaker, cat. no. 277-1008C, for $11.95 at a Radio Shack store; plus a cable. That does the trick. Works fine. This is a pretty compact solution. Start with the volume on the Clie very low so it doesn't boom out the speaker too loud. Let us know if this works for any of you or if you gave some other ideas.

Good Luck!

Okay fellows, here's another solution I found that works pretty well instead of adding the extrenal Radio Shack speaker:

Adjust the volume of each MP3 with a program like the MP3Trim program attached. According to it's author, "it is A Simple and easy to use MP3 editor (Trim, Adjust Volume, Clean Your MP3s)."

The attached program worked for me. I got it from the Yahoo Group, nXtClieClub at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nXtClieClub/

You may want to join this group and look in the Files section for other programs. Thanks to user/creator "nxtiak" for this nicely designed shareware program. Be careful if you use this program not to overdrive the Clie speaker too much.

Good Luck using the external speaker approach described above or the software approach described here.

Let us know how things work out or if you have other ideas as to how to increase the speaker volume when playing MP3's on the T665.

I'm not sure why the file attachment did not show up attached to the message above. Maybe it was just a bit too big (slightly above the 200K limit for attachments at cliesource).

The file name is:
MP3Trim_1.77a.zip

The address is at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nXtClieClub/files/-MP3%20%26%20Music%20Related%20%2B%20AudioPlayer%20Skins/-Windows%20MP3%20Programs/

Hope you can find it. If the link above does not work, go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nXtClieClub/
and look in the files directory and subdirectories for MP3 and Music Related Programs. You may need to join the nXtClieClub first.

Good Luck!
