Hi there!

Yesterday I bought a Lexar Memory Stick (64MB) and tried to install it so I can use it as a portable storage drive under Windows XP.
I installed MS Export as well as the MS SCSI driver and when I connect to the PC with MS Import it shows that it has got a connection.
But when I tried to move a file to the MS it told me that no Memory Stick is found.
When Windows found the MS I could only finish the installation by quitting MS Import on the CLIE.

If anybody could help me with this problem, I would be very glad. Thank you very much in advance.

Peter

I really can't understand 100% of your problem. Please be more specific.

I have the same problem on my TOSHIBA laptop, (running XP) with the LEXAR 128MB mem stk. It reads the SONY 128MB mem stk just fine. Now, on my SONY desktop, (running XP), it reads all of my mem stks. I cannot figure out what is causing the problem.

Sounds like a Lexar problem. I would suggest you check their website's FAQs or contact their tech support.

Unregistered, when you open "MS import" on the Clie, do you see a "Removable Drive" under "My Computer" screen? I don't use MS Export to transfer file, I just drag and drop files into the "Removable Drive", which is the Clie's memory stick drive.

Windows seems to recognise the device (it makes a sound when I start MS Import) and also shows a "SONY Removeable Mass Storage" in the Hardware Tab.
But neither in "My computer" nor in the Windows Explorer the MS is shown.
I think I'll try to reinstall WIndows. That solved many of those problems.

Thanks, Peter

IT's a driver issue -- go to add and remove programs and remove the clie export memory stick driver -- reboot system -- reinstall driver for cd -- reboot again -- push ms import on clie driver will load as sony mass storage device on computer -- checked my computer a removable disk or removable drive in this folder ---

Are you on running on a network? I had a problem when XP was installed on my work computer. With the network drives, it would not asign a drive letter to my Clie MS. My tech support was able to configure XP manually to assign a drive letter. GP

never had any problems with xp pro and 675 or nr70 with a variety of sticks i plug all stuff (including sony digital cameras) and everything is recognized by xp. you do not need any specific drivers IMHO just msimport works fine.

I don't think XP needs MS driver or MS Export. I sticked my Clie to my brother laptop running with XP (BTW, he does not have Clie or any other PDA) via USB-Clie travel adapter and launch MS Import, XP recognize the Removable Disk right away as if my Clie is one of those USB card reader.

Knowing the poor quality of Lexar MSs, I wouldn't be surprise if the MS is the culprit.  I have 2 Sony, 3 SanDisk MSs w/o any problem, bought 2 Lexar MSs and both of them were duds.  Luckily I found the problems right away and were able to return them for full refunds to Dell (including shippings).

I have also had problems like the one described and sometimes when I trry to drag and drop files using MS Import, the computer freezes -- (XP Pro).

I tried removing Palm desktop software then reloading it so the driver loads again. But generally, this did not help.

My system is firewalled and I use Norton Antivirus with autoprotect. When I disable the firewall and the Norton Antivirus, I have more success both access the removable drive and dragging and dropping files to it.

You might want to try this.

I'm using a Lexar Media 128MB MS with no issues under XP Pro (SP1)

Should note it only works via USB, not via IR as far as my testing has shown.

I've had no problems using a Lexar 128Mb MS or an I-O Data 64Mb MS or a Sony 128Mb MS with Windows XP Pro.
Just thought I'd add these comments to the thread.

I haven't had any problems with XP and a Lexar 128 mb stick.

XP needs no drivers, just connect the Clie and launch MS Import.
I too have Sony (64&128MB) and Lexmark (2x128) MS's and have no problems with them whatsoever on XP.

Hm

Sometimes it works, Sometimes not !
I can't finish the MS Export installation program cos' it need the scsi driver (as I see on a message). And he looks for the USBSTOR.sys file. So I found it and I put it in the right place manually.
Now it works, but sometimes not ! What happened ?!

Just change my T615c for a T665c.
Before, there was no problem with MS Export. Now, with this new one, it seems that the T665c MS Export Program on the Sony original CD is buggy !??!@!?!

Where can I download the right program on the net ?
