Being a fumble-fingered Clie user, I've attached a coiled shoe string through the tether ring of my Clie NX60 (and previously, a T615C).  With a clip to attach one end  of the "bungie" to the pda, and an alligator clip to secure the other to a belt loop, my Clie has been saved from many a nasty fall.

Anyone else making creative use of this hardware feature?

I have the strap that came with the nx attached but it is starting to annoy me now i am probably going to take it off. Thought i would get some use out of it but i haven't.

I "reduced" that hand strap to a 1-inch loop I could easily pass a clasp through. After cutting it to the right length, I melted the two ends with a lighter and "welded" them back together.

Steve, could you post a picture or two of your creation?  I'd love to see what you're saying here.

I've 'considered' those decorative 'dongles' they sell for cell phones. Get something pretty to go with my red case...heh.

What I did was to go down to the sporting goods store and buy a small bag of metal "spinners" in the fishing department for 89 cents. I clipped one spinner into the Clie's tether ring. Then, I clipped the next spinner onto that spinner and so on until all six spinners were clipped on like a chain. I took the last spinner and clipped it onto one of the middle spinners to form a loop.

Now when I hold the Clie with my left hand, I can put my index finger through the loop. No more nasty falls.

And, being that they ARE spinners, the chain never gets tangled.

I'd post a picture, but my camera's not with me (except for the MS camera, but that won't do much good, eh?).

Hereis a photo of the bungie cord.  The original idea and execution was done by my 14 yr. old daughter, Audrey.  No photo of her, though! :)

Noticing the small loop at the top corner of my NR70V, I took the wrist loop off my digital camera and put it on the Clie. Worked well, but was too long, hanging about 3 inches below the Clie.

Now I just use an eight inch piece of silky looking cord (about 3/16 inch thick) I bought in a fabric shop. Makes a four-inch loop handy for not dropping the smooth NR70V.

It's very hard to get things through the small mounting slot on the Clie.

Okay, sportsfans!  Here's Steve's third attempt to post photos of his Clie bungie cord!

This one if of the coiled cord (I hope!):

You can't link images from your hard drive. They need to be hosted somewhere. Also I don't think that this board uses HTML code, it uses VB code.
