I've read some reviews of the UX-50 and one of the weaknesses pointed was that there were not to many applications that were tested for the size screen and performance of the UX.

Do you know what software benefits of all UX features??

"Feed a man a fish
and he eats for a day.
Teach him how to fish
and he eats for a lifetime!"

Do a search in this forum and you'll find several threads that deal with this subject.

Note that its not the UX's weakness that you are referring to, but the weakness of the 3rd Party software that hasn't yet taken advantage of the UX's new screen format.

It takes time and effort to rewrite software this way and until the UX proved itself (and I think is has done that well) most developers didn't make the effort. You'll find that a number of major apps have made new releases and more are comming.

As per Mr. Z, do the forum search (Teach a man to fish ...) but here's a little bait: try various searches for "UX", "Landscape", "480x320", and "Codediver". The last is the name of an applet that can make "square" apps use the landscape mode. There's a lot of info in those threads.

Thanks Dwig, but I wasn't meaning that.
What I meant was this phrase of the Brighthand review (http://www.brighthand.com/article/Sony_UX50_Review) of the UX:

After just using this device for a couple days, I did a "first impressions" review in which I said the small screen didn't bother me. As I've had a chance to use it for longer, I've changed my mind. The UX50's screen feels cramped. This is exacerbated by the fact that most third-party applications don't yet allow you to hide its virtual Graffiti area, which leaves you using a screen that is just 1.8 inches on a side, or 2.5 inches diagonally, with the virtual Graffiti area open.
:)
