I think something is wrong with my NX70 and I may have to exchange it for a new one. (I have the plan from Best Buy.)
Any expert advice on the best way to get my programs and data loaded on a new CLIE? BTW...I use JackFlash and have programs in ROM, I use PowerRUN and have programs on the MS card, I use BackupMan (so things are pretty well backed up on the card) and last but not least, I also use BackupBuddy on the PC side.

You should move all programs out of flash and release the flash.
Do a backup with BackupMan so all your apps that you moved from flash to RAM are backed up. Take your Mem. Stk OUT and put it somewhere safe!
Do a hotSync. When you are in the store and SURE that you are getting a new Sony, THEN do a hard reset! ;)
After you get home and your new unit is fully charged, put your mem stk back in and do a complete restore from BackupMan(if you're using the same model Sony that you exchanged. If not, I would suggest a tedious app by app reinstall:(
Let us know.

Thanks. If I have to do the move, I will follow your advice!
But, I'm not sure if the model will be the same. I have a NX70V and I know it has been discontinued and replaced with NX73 or NX80. (?) I'm not sure on that, but will find out.

Well good luck. You just want to be sure you don't load your old units' rivers into your new models, unless it's the same model.

back up with hotsync for sure. keep 4 rolling backups, both on m/s and your pc hard drive.

Looks like it won't happen afterall. In preparation for the big move, I cured the orginal problem. (Orginal problem being: when trying to wirelessly connect to the internet, my WiFi card did not blink and I could not connect. Had finally decided that the CF slot pins could be bent, and was preparing to take the Clie in and find out.)
Don't know how I cured it, but suspect it had to do with a driver.Out of curiousity, after a hard reset do you have to reinstall the driver updates?
