View Full Version : normal backlight version
how should I recognise if my PDA is faulty? Maybe from the serial number or the version? What version should I order?

from what I have read from other posts about the bad backlight and the few people that posted serial numbers, the problem seems widespread. There seems to be no consistency in the serial numbers and the faulty units were purchased from a variety of vendors.

In germany, the tj`s with german OS5 has serials like, 5003XXX and the backlight donīt crash often! Seems that sony, uses the states for beta issues! sorry for grammar
this is what I am strating to think also... you can check my new thread ("sth completely differnt")...
I think there are "places" that sell faulty clies with no intention of course...

Xpan,
Not necessarily so, if you look at the posts, it seems like everyone that is having the problem got their units from various retailers including the biggies like circuit city ans bestbuy. It appears that a few more got theirs from compuplus.com but, their price was so low, it is probably because more people bought from them than other places.
