Whenever I try to use the "Find" function, after I type in what I'm searching for, I get a "Fatal Exception" Error and the PDA is making me do a soft reset. Anyone else get that? Wonder if it's some of the software that I installed that is not compatible with the "Find" function. The only non-Sony provided software that I installed is Docs To Go 6, Converter 2.2, and a couple of games though.

This fatal exception with "Find" is quite common. It is usually caused by a corrupt file. I had it once because of Docs to Go. Just try to reinstall this. If that doesn't work, you have to try all the other third-party software.

Thanks for the tip. I reinstalled DocsToGo, but it didn't help. Here's exactly what I get:
Emul68KMain.c,Line:403, illegal instruction 4914 at address 00104C92
You may need to restart the handheld by performing a soft rest. Please press the reset button.
Anyone know what these codes mean exactly? Do they tell which program is causing this error?
Thanks!

Well, it seems that the 'Find' function does not like Docs To Go 6. When I remove this app from Clie, the 'Find' function works normally. Is this a known compatibility issue betw. Clie and DTG6? Is there a way around it? I tried reinstalling it, but it didn't help. Thanks!
PS: I just sent an e-mail to Sony regarding this.

It's PROBABLY just a corrupt file. I don't use Docs To Go, but I had this problem when I installed Mobile Paint. You could try re-installing and see if it happens again. Although you're only getting soft resets, I'd make sure everything is backed up - just in case.

I'm using DTG 6.005 on a TJ35 and I have no problems with the find function. Maybe you could try reinstalling DTG?

OK, thanks all. Instead of doing regular 'reinstall' (overwrite), I deleted DTG and then installed again, and everything seems to be fine now. Thanks again.

It was bought from Circuit City, and it's been used for only about a week now, so I probably have another week before my backlight craps out. :D
8368 is the SN#.

well I upgraded from a NR70 which came with DTG 4.0, so I paid $30 to upgrade to 6.0.
If you're registered, just go to www.dataviz.com then the download patches section. You can put in your last name and reg # and you should be able to download the 6.005
