Looking for way to purchase 1 Gig memstick from Japan

does anybody know how to order a 1GB memory stick from Japan. I heard they are only $100 there.

Umm.. I'm in Japan and I haven't seen them for $100. If you know where, I'll go check it out. I rememeber when I saw the 512 Mb Sony Mem Stick in Akihabara for the 1st time, it had a holy light shinning on it and I was like... AwWwWw.. But it was roughly the same price as in the US.

I live here in Japan. I can tell you that it's definitely not $100 for a 1 GB memory stick. Check out www.kakaku.com if you understand any Japanese (even if you can't, you can still navigate around). I don't think they delivery overseas but it's a good indication of the cheapest prices here.

i didnt know they are $100 i was just reading this guys reply and he said 1gb cards are in japan for that price.

Has it occurred to anyone that it may actually be a 1GB CF, he may have heard about CF and misinterpreted!

1USD = 109 Japanese yen, I guess the price quoted at kelkoo was 57,900 yen so that is about 531 USD . Nope you can get it in US for a price lower than this.

Japan and Korea don't have them that cheap but some of the other asian countries do have them close to that price. Two for sure are Thailand, and China. I don't currently know anyone there, but my friend got me one from China..(street vendor) for the equivalent of $119...most unfortunate that I only asked for one...It is a MS Pro 1GB...just not Sony brand.

I visited Thailand last week, I think the only way to get one for 119 would be to buy a stolen one...

I didn't go to China, but I know in Hong Kong, it's cheaper to buy it on the web and get the rebates for the best price. China is probably cheaper, but probably not to the level of 100 dollars.

China is not cheaper, I'm living in Shanghai now. NX80V here costs US$120 more than what I paid in Hong Kong. Go to Hong Kong for bargains. I just got a 256 MB MS Duo Pro for about US$100.

I guess instead of arguing and accusing the people of getting stolen MS, we should rather share information. I believe that it can be cheaper in China. MS is basically costly because of the high royality that Sony gets paid for the technology. So it makes sense that any thing that does not come with a Label would be cheap.

Humms....seems like I need to get my uncle to look for a MS pro 1GB when he goes to Thailand again.
