IM/Mail programs w/ proxy server?

I was wondering if anyone here knows how to get the IM or mail programs to be able to connect to a proxy server with the wifi card? I am able to use Netfront okay because there is a setting that allows me to use a proxy server and port, but none of the other browsers, IM/Mail apps have this option? Am I out of luck here? I use analogX to share my internet connection wirelessly (I have AOL+ satellite, and thats the only way to share it really). Thanks for your time.

Curious if you tried AIM or Verichat to see if it worked, even without the menu choice.

Yea neither program works even though the card is connected wirelessly, I wish they had a setting to use proxy servers. Looks like I'm stuck with netfront for a while.
