Had a scare today..

UX sitting in it's cradle.. pop pop pop pop pop.. it goes..

Then a few loud ones.. Then I try using it in the cradle and it stops.. But still makes the popping noise - but only when the backlight is off/screen is off (eh?)

I panic (well, duh) take it out of the cradle.. it stops.. I unplug, make sure to clean the contacts on the charger and UX's base.. look at the plug into the cradle and blow out any dust.. Plug it in again..

And.. It's fine again now.. @_@

Thank ye gads, but.. GEEZ that was scary! has anyone else had that? And why on earth would it only do it when the screen is off? lol.

Mine does that once in awhile. Seems to happen when the battery is "just about charged" and the charging circuit flips on and off. Hasn't done it in a couple of weeks, though...mystery.

Wow.. Instant gratification.. Thanks a lot, I feel so much better now, hehe..

If it's not dying then I'm happy. :)

The cool thing is when the clicks have a varying frequency. LOL at least until smoke starts coming out of the speaker. Then I'll be sort of pissed.

Not that loud.. more like someone tapping a pen on a wooden table or something.. but fuzzy.. There was a little variation in the noise, and i can see what was said about it sounding like radio interference too.. V strange.. But I couldnt replicate it after having played with the connecter on the cradle.. Not that I really want to replicate it. :)
