I just bought the wireless keyboard by palm and it works great for the ux, I have a 50. Jsut installed the software and it recognized the keyboard right away. the keyboard itself is very sturdy and with the swinging arm to align with the ir prot, it will be uselfull for more palms to come. Anybody else try, or know of any others that are better?

This link at brighthand.com shows more pics and gives a review though not specifically in terms of the ux handhelds

I tried to post multiple pics but I gues this is not possible, I do not know how at least.
The keyboard is plastic and does take two tripple a's I believe. It is as thick as a ux and about the same weight.

The palm keyboard here is made by think outside and it has drivers now for the ppc. It works great so I have finally found the keyboard that is very functional, (exept for the lack of a dedicated number row) that works on both platform. :) Brighthand.com has the link to it on its review of the ppc version of the keyboard.

How about this... I did a review for the PDA Avenue site RIGHT before its demise -- These were pictures from it...

This is the UX WITH The battery on the keyboard. A tad bulky, but it works with no problems.

My wife's Zire on the KB. (She liked it so much she nabbed the one I bought)

Zire and KB folded side by side...

Unfolding it...

My biggest problem is adjusting to the new FN keys when trying to do the simulated fourth row on the top letter row. Otherwise no problem. No slow down...

BLUETOOTH!! I WANT BLUETOOTH!

I tried the IR keyboard from Targus when it first came out. I didn't like it. It felt alright, but it was just so big and bulky, and the mechanism for holding the PDA was really crappy (and doesn't work with the UX at all). So I just gave up. At the time I had an iPaq, but now I've gone to the UX so I don't feel as much of a need for the external keyboard. I suppose it would be nice though to have one that was Bluetooth, for times when I needed to take high-speed notes.

Anyone know if this works with the NX-70?

Should work fine because it communicates with the PDA via IR and does not depend upon the physical serial port on the NX70 (that Sony changed slightly with the release of the NX70 and which prevented backward compatibility with other "T" series keyboards).

i'm having problems loading the program to the ux-50. It keeps saying:
HotSync operation started 12/20/03 14:58:09
- Already exists: C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\barrioc\Install\Keyboard.prc
Install synchronization failed

Help???

Carlos,

if hotsyncing the driver doesn't work, try to email the file to your UX and install it from there.

Regards,
Chris

when I try to open it, it says the file is read only.

Also, I just downloaded a trial version of snapper mail to see if I could mail myself the attached driver. But guess what, no attachments are showing up on the mail that I fetch... Man, is this supposed to be THIS hard??? e.g also download the driver from palm one site, so I know it's some impeding thing on my system but what??

just tried beaming it to myself from wife's zire. It cannot because there is a keyboard already installed. So the $50,000 question(and I don't have the money-figurative use) is how do I place the keyboard driver in a place where it won't interferere or outight delete it.
