I will be moving to an NX very soon from a T615 and would like any experiences and suggestions if you are willing. Also would like to know if it is possible to sync an NX and a T to the same home computer under different login names, if so then how do you get around the different PalmDesktop versions.
Thanks:)

Here is my recent experience with going from my T615 to the NX60 I just picked up. I have been using palms since the "Professional", so I have a bit of experience, here goes.

I had a mem-stick backup of all my current apps on the 615. I first popped that in the NX60 and used Clie Files (stripped down version of McFile) to copy the apps I still wanted and would run on the new machine.

The Clie Launcher sucks, get LauncherX, ZLauncher or YiShow, my personal preferance is for LauncherX, it's simple, works well with the mem stick and looks good.

Here is what I have installed and why, think of this as a starter list of Clie NX programs:

AcidImage: Deals with folders better, quick jpg viewer. No desktop compenent, but i've been using photoshop for 8+ years, so I can batch 'em just fine.

Agendus: Some of the graphics are a little hokey in high-res but it works well overall. I dislike the cluttered interface of Datebk5.

Handstory: GREAT app for reading news sites, clipping docs and text selections to the palm. You'll have to buy this sucker to try it, they don't have a demo version.

Iambic Mail: I didn't like Clie Mail, I don't want to see the date column on my clie but I want to sort it via the date column. Iambic mail it is.

CodeDiver: THIS PROGRAM ROCKS! It can take your older OX4 programs and let them take advantage of the HiRes+ screen. I have BibleReader and a couple other progs which wouldn't let me collaps the grafitti area, now they can.

Fonts4NX: The default fonts suck, get this and use the OS5 Tungsten font, much better.

McPhling: Great DA type launcher util. I mapped it to the voice record button, one handed launching!

Okey: I use this to add page scroll buttons in tablet mode.

Those are some of the apps that I use on a nearly daily basis. What a great little machine.

Kinda OT, but that CodeDiver app is really cool. Something everyone with an NX should get. There is just so many features! I didn't even realize that it could force some hi-res apps into hi-res+ mode. Very nice! It can be found here. (http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~imazeki/palm/cDiv/index-e.html)

Im about to get one too and one thing that was annoying on the NR is that you can't turn off the shutter sound when you take a picture. Is this still true with the NX?

I recommend using an "add as you need it" philisophy. I've been fairly happy with the sony launcher. I tried out isilo and I happen to like that too (especially isiloX). I had a handspring before so I use datebook5. What you want to get for software depends on what you use.
The one thing that I strongly urge you to do is go to your Palm Desktop and export(/backup) all your contacts, memos, and etc. There shouldn't be any problems, but just in case... Most of that information is irreplaceable!

Thanks:)

Use the latest v4.1 Palm Desk Top for all. Version 4.01 from the NX has to be installed first. When upgrading to v4.1, it will offer to uninstall the old version. You shouldn't lose any data, but make a backup copy of the Sony Handheld folder just in case. Different HS Names should be fine. When upgrading, do NOT HotSync directly from the old to the new. Resident Sony apps like contacts and stuff, you can beam it to the new Clie. Some stuff from OS4 maybe compatible, others won't when going to OS5. I copied my apps to an out of the way spot on the MS, then tried them one at a time using YiShow to which would be okay and to identify the ones that wouldn't.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I don't remember seeing anything about this until today.

70;) If I'm gonna get this thing, I might as well get the fun camera too. BestBuy mailed me a coupon for 10% off plus 18 months financing. Or 24 month financing off their web site. I can do that:)

Thanks:)
