I went to the Norcal Mobile Computing SIG (http://www.mobilecomputingsig.com/) meeting last night at Microsoft HQ in SF where one of the presentations were from Arkon (http://www.arkon.com/
) who came over to demonstrate its mount kits. I think I was the only Palm user at the meeting. People did comment on it though. Although I bet the ones who didn't comment were just too jealous...hehehhe
Anyways, I took a look at all of the Arkon offerings and pretty much all of them don't fit the UX-50 width wise (grippers on left and right of the ux). Most of the them are close but not enough. All except the

Powered PDA Mount Kit. The other mounting kits would fit in portrait mode (grippers on the top and bottom of the UX).
I asked him if he would consider making mounts specifically for the UX (No.) They'll be making them for the Axims though. At the end of the night, there was a raffle where the first prize was the GPS BT from Socket. I didn't get it but I got the 2nd prize (The Powered PDA Mount) and some other nifty stuff.
Here are some pictures that I took (sorry...they were taken in complete darkness when I first got it installed). The mount is supposed to be pretty secure (the guy lifted up a table with it) but when I came back in the morning it had fallen off the windshield so I'm probably going to email that VP about it. Still its a pretty cool product. Speakers are pretty good but I'll probably still use my cassette adapter. If the USB power cable works, this kit would be perfect for powering it up on the go since it has 2 USB ports as well as a DC-out.

I found that even though this mount does fit the ux-50 with the grippers on the side. That meant that I didn't have ready access to the power switch or the memorystick. With the grippers on the side though, you can have the clie flipped open and have it look cool. I'll try to get more pics later. And oh yeah, as you can see, there is enough room on the grippers for the extended battery.
