Equipment
Clie NX80
Peleca's modified Movie Player

When I try to play a movie converted from Sony's Image converter the Clie locks up when I try use the slide bar to move to another part of the movie. A soft reset is all that is needed to get the machine going again. Does anyone have an idea of a way to correct this problem? The movie file that I am playing is actaully a recorded TV show that I have recorded on the PC using SnapStream's Personal Video Recorder and a Happauge WinTV PVR-350 PCI card. The output is a MGEG2 file that was recorded with a DVD stream settings. I take this file into ULead's Video Studio 7 and edit out the commercials and resave it as a MPEG2 file and a new MPEG1 file for Image Converter.

I have also tried taking the MPEG2 file and convert it to DivX using Dr. Divx and then run that file through Image Converter but the Clie will not play that file. It shows the first frame and then skips to the last frame and things it is done.

I have also tried to use the Virtual Dub program but it gives me an error when I try to open the origainal MPEG2 file so I did not get anywhere with it.

Thank You

Todd

IC is rather quirky in that it will run and act as if there were no problems, when there were.

The MPEG1 file, does it have any audio compression?

I've noticed any audio compression causes problems.

I am not sure if the MPEG1 file has audio compression. I will have to check into the program that I used to see what it settings are.

One thing I did forget to say is I can place the same movie file on the Memory Stick and everything works just fine. I can move around in the file using the slide bar and it never freezes up.

Are you using snapstream to watch movies on your computer as well, and is that working.

I believe the solution is to stop the movie, move the slider, and then play the movie again. Cheers

i just wanna give a tip for those who are getting choppy videos, first off i have no problem with playing videos from my CF card but after getting PXA Clocker and setting my CPU to the fastest my clie can handle w/o stalling, my videos play smoothly as if i was watching it on TV. hope this helps...
