TJ35 and Hard Reset

Hello,
Sometime i can power on my Clie.
The only solution, it's to do a reset, and then the clie do a hard reset.

Anyone have the same pb ?

Except when software asks for it I have not had to reset at all. What program are you using when the TJ locks up?

The TJ is blocked after inactivity, when i try to reactivate it.
I have charged the battery today at 11am and now at 2am the battery is at 56%. And i have not utilised it a lot.
No mp3
5/6 hotsynch
it's all, the last of time the tj is power off

That sounds like maybe you have a faulty TJ. Is there any strange software running in the background? Any hacks or things like wavAlarm or a backup app that has a schedule? If there isn't anything like that running I would suspect your TJ has a bad motherboard or memory or something. It sounds a lot like the weird stuff that happens when a PC is having motherboard problems.

Actually, I had the same problem with my TJ25. I don't remember what I did before it happened.

I simply returned it to circuit city, and I got TJ35 from Comp-u-plus at almost the same price I paied for TJ25 :)

At least so far, I don't have any problem with it.

My Clie SJ30 was having probs. Purchased the TJ35 for its memory and functionality. After confirming the apps used on the SJ30 were OS5, ARM compatible, I used the original install files to load my apps to the TJ35. Seems within 72-96 hours, the TJ35 would crash--that is, fail to turn on. Only way to turn on the unit would be to do what I thought was a soft reset. When the Clie turned back on, lo and behold, all my hard work to load my apps and enter registration codes to activate them was wasted---they were gone as if I had performed a hard reset.

So far, I have again contacted all of the app vendors. I am now loading one app at a time, waiting several days to see if it crashes before loading another app. As I have 8 apps to load, this will be a really big pain.

I have contacted Sony Customer Svc---they are pleasant but really no help.

If this unit crashes after my careful reinstall, I too will be returning the unit.

I think the probleme was Zlauncher,
I have not re-install this, and no pb since 4 day.

Sony say me to do a hard reset, not install app. And wait for another probleme, in this case i must return the tj35.

I have used Zlauncher on mine since the first day I got my TJ-35. I have not had any lockups at all.

Maybe we could start a new thread for the TJ series. As Sony is unable to control apps and app vendors maybe do not have the best insight of the Sony OS TJ system, we are left with crashing Clie's and little help.
So, maybe it would be helpful to list apps we have added to our crashin' Clies, with the hope that the list of incompatibilities could be discovered with less work.
Any thoughts?

I am having the problems. I am using Zlauncher and Tealmaster. I think the problem may be because of the Tealmaster.
If it does, it is too bad because I need to use Teallauncher for fast lauching...

Now I am using my old Sj-33 for daily use and testing the TJ-35 to find what caused the problems.

Great idea! I have started a thread with the title "Odd things and Tips about TJ35".

I have posted already a similar experience (locking). Let's keep our "problems" and solutions of this nature in that thread, so that we don't have to hunt all over the forum for them. What do you guys/gals think?

The new thread "Odd Things and tips about TJ35" has become useful regarding incompatibility issues and crashes of various sorts. Check out riderbee's discovery. I am looking forward to trying the discovery out on my unit once it is returned for the backlight issue. The issue involves removing the memory stick and is one that often happens to me inadvertantly.
