View Full Version : What is UP with Clie Viewer?!?

I've taken about a dozen photos with my NX70V, all stored on Memory Stick. When I switch to Clie Viewer, it takes *forever* for the thumbnails to appear--and in fact it seems to catalog them twice before I have access to any photos. PLUS, there's no way to flip from one photo to the next without returning to thumbnail view? It wasn't like this with the NR--what gives? Am I missing something? Is everyone else experiencing this?

It's normal behavior for the Viewer app. I think pretty much everybody with the NX has picked up a third party program for viewing and managing images. I use AcidImage. It's still a pain though because to send an image as an attatchment on an e-mail you have to go through the pain of ClieViewer. I have over 300 pictures on my MS, so I am contantly trying to select the picture I want while all the rest are loading and moving the picture I want around on the screen.

Another great program is Splashphoto. Just updated as well version 3.62 it is great and very fast. Yea OcellNuri it would be great if AcidImage or Splashphoto would add CLIE Mail support.

One trick to make the pain a little less, is to move the images to another folder on your Mem Stick. I think ClieViewer only looks in /DCIM/Whatever and /Palm/Images/. I have my images in another folder and then just move the ones I want to /Palm/Images if I need to use the e-mail or address book.

I do the above, WHAT I need I leave in the original directory, FOR everything else I create directories and I ENJOY AcidImage... I TOO found out the HARD way how horrible clie viewer (with over 100+ pix) is =/

Where do you put the Acid Image pictures you store? If I move them out of that /DCIM directory they don't show up... I have a directory in the DCIM that does show up. where does Acid look for files?

Acid Image should be able to see the images anywhere on the Memory Stick.

Yep, Clie Viewer pretty much 'bites the big one.' I have gotten into the habit of using the preview buttons shown in the camera view with the graffiti area hidden. This means, taking pics three at a time (unless you delete a few, and then THAT becomes your new limit). I have to say, given the faster speed and higher picture quality of this unit, Sony made a huge mistake w/ Clie Viewer. It sucks to have to shell out money on an application to replace one that exists, but in a seriously flawed form.

I concur, Acid Image reads the whole stick, you may have to access the image group menu to see them. Hit the arrow at the bottom left of screen. Each folder that has pics in it, sows up as an image group.
