It's to bad Palm OS didn't have that feature built-in as an option. Like for start-up, Alerts, Warning, etc. But you have to use a cheap hack to do this. Oh well.

Me too...I recorded my kids saying something that I wanted to use as my alarm for my next appointment in Agendus, but it needs to be in SMF format but sound converter uses PCM. How can I convert PCM to SMF like the default system sounds?
Anyone know?

All I know is that a MIDI converts to SMF and a WAV converts to PCM. So if you record it as a MIDI it will work. I know no way to convert SMF to PCM and looked into it months ago and was told by alarm (for clie) makers that they do not convert to one another. I would add that you should jump on iambic to make it PCM compatible as Datebk 5 is.:)

SMF to PCM is simple ... it's just play and record.
But PCM to SMF is almost impossible. There was once a program which tried to do it, but it only supported one instrument at a time and was therefore pretty useless. In order to play real voice in a midi file you have to convert the pcm file into a sample and then access it via a midi format which supports custom samples. like xmidi

Ahh, yes Tixx, good idea! This is the first "shortcoming" of Agendus that I have experienced for how I use it. Should be easy enough since the default datebook also can handle PCM.

aAlarms did it from my request and I need to bug BugMe! again to do it as they promised, but have yet to deliver.
