Ok here's what happened I applied a screen protector yesterday (Fellows) use the enclosed card to smooth out all the air bubbles. powered on the Clie' and went to start an application, I had to click 2 app icons above the one I wanted to execute. Once I saw this I tried to execute the digitizer calibration program but was unable to open the pull down menu. So I did a hard reset and re-Calibrated the digitizer but it still was off a few pixels. so I removed the screen protector re-calibrated, I hot synced and also loaded ReDiGi a free app that will run the digi calibrator on soft reset.
This morning I noticed that I'm still a few pixels off in calibration, so I tried to re-Calibrate the Digitizer. after repeated cycling through the recalibration targets the clie' finally accepted the calibration, but it's still about a 1/4" off calibration. Ant help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

sorry for the log post

In my experience the digitizer on the SJ30 is really, really testy. and really prone to hardware malfunction. I had one where it "drifted" to the point of no longer functioning right, and now i can't calibrate the digitizer. I actually called every electronics store in my area and bought the last SJ30 available that night. You may have to send yours back to Sony (assuming you're still within warranty) so they can fix the digitizer. my best guess is that something got pressed down wrong when you applied the screen protector, and it didn't just go back to normal when you removed it.
until then, you can do what i was doing while my digitizer was drifting: use the jog dial for menu navigation and button presses, and hope your hand gets used to the 1/4" shift when doing pen taps.

Kezza,
I think your right, I've only had my Clie about 30 days. I might have to send it back to sony for repair. the vendor here in my area is Circuit City and I got the last one.
